walking and 'mouse look'

Post by Lemernis »

Is there an easier way to walk than simultaneously holding down both the W and B keys? I feel like I'm eventually gonna get tendonitis in my left hand. ;)

Also, I have found that the game is pretty buggy when I use the 'mouse look' option. Eg, I'm often unable to pick up items from remains. I have a Logitech Cordless MouseMan Optical mouse, which has it's own software, so maybe some setting I have chosen with that software might be causing the problem? Anyway, I would prefer to use the mouse entirely to control movement. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum.

You can cycle trough objects using the q and e keys. That makes it easyer.

What do you use the B key for if i may ask?

Also i believe the keys can be customized in the options menu.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Thanks for the response. :)

Pressing the W key makes the character run wherever he or she is facing. When you hold down the W and B keys together, the character will walk instead of run. I'm playing the game through for the first time, and I find that walking instead of running everywhere tends to deepen the movie-like immersion of the game.

That's generally true of any game which places a premium on the surrounding visual environment--look at Morrowind, for instance, where running causes the loss of stamina. Running in KotoR becomes more attractive after you've seen the sights; and you'll find that putting somebody at the front of your party using the Jedi speed powers helps negotiate those tedious passages you've checked out many times. :)
