popularest race

Post by Coot »

Which race do you like best? And why? Is your choice based on the bonuses a race receives or are there roleplaying reasons involved? Is outward appearance of any importance?

I like Bosmer best, because they're (obviously) well suited for stealth and I love to sneak and steal. If I have to fight, I like to do it from a distance and Woodelves are fine archers.
Also, I love those dark eyes.

Bosmer and Dunmer - for their abilities, plus Rhedd's cool heads.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Well I really like my Bosmer character, but I tend to lack focus when I play games because of an addiction to rolling new characters...

Out of curiosity I decided last night to try a Red Gaurd, custom class, basically a magic using fighter. And I have to say... in the little bit I saw I'm really impressed... The resistances to poison and common disease, along with the Adrenalin Rush and the bonus in longsword (which I also chose as a major skill, giving me a total of 50 points just starting) make for a very cool character :D I also selected the Lady as my birth sigh, very useful!

Started with a bosmer, wich was good, tried a dunmer and got bored, and am playing an altmer now. I like them, despite their brutal flaws.

Breton especially with Atronarch is really overpowered magically. High magicka total, magic resistance and spell absorption.

@DW join the club. Just for that comment I'm gonna restart today :D

Redguard, Khajit and Nord are my favorite races.

Redguards...they simply got style. Smooth talkers, proficient in Long Swords and good for Fighter/Thief-Combos.

Khajiti...the best Thieves in Morrowind, 'nuff said ;)

Nords...there's nothing which looks better than a Nord wearing chainarmor and wielding an axe. Really, nothing.

But right now I'm playing a Dunmer and I have to admit that it's a rather nice race......a perfect bad ass assasin ;)

Message from the Teacher's Guild in Vivec, High Fane:

It is called "The most popular race".

You can't say "popularest race" (unless you say it in swedish).

I know that, Dorian. :) My English isn't that bad. And I'm not the stupidest guy around either.
But I change it if you like. How about: 'The race people like bestest'?

I'm a primary school teacher so I know what you mean too. =shrug= I guess it's an occupational hazard. :)

Back on topic: I'm not surprised redguards are so popular, but I would've thought more people would vote for Khajiit, not to mention Orcs.
And does nobody like Argonian and Nords?

I'm playing an Argonian right now, just for something a little different. I like how he hisses everytime he dies! ;)
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

I seem to recall something similar in SoA, people often preferred the human and elvish characters. I think it may be owing to the fact that it is role-playing and many have a hard time visualising themselves as big, green orcs or what have you. Though that doesn't explain the aversion to Nords or lesser interest in Bretons and Imperials.

I've noticed that red guards, bosmer, and dark elves are the most popular, and these seem to be 'attractive' humanoid races that combine a certain romantic element, along with significant advantages (and no drawbacks)....

I absolutely LOVE not like, LOVE the Khajiit, their just so... powerful. I mean, my first character was a Khajiit warrior, medium armor, atheltics, acrobatics, longblade and block. Killer. Majored in Strength and Agility. He's the best jumper around hehe. Not to mention sneak.

I'd have voted for the Nord if I'd known that they're so unpopular... :(

And I still haven't played an Argonian or a noble Elf, or a Breton, or an Imperial, or an Orc (my next character will be an Orc...bloody hell, I still haven't finished ANY quest and I'm still a level 3 Dark Elven Assasin and I'm already planning my next character
 )

Nords are the coolest and most badass race!
They simply just look cool in any type of armor.
Nords are simply the most badass, most awsome, strongest warrior in the morrowind game!

Nords are like the vikings (and kinda like the celtics). Nobody could stop them when they totally pwned Europe during 800-1050. Go nord, go vikings, GO NORWAY!!!!

Umm.... you do know you repeated badass twice right?

Besides, role play wise, any character could embrace that description, so long as the person played them as such.

Btw, you won't think they're cool when you see two naked nords prancing about with their you-hoo flaping about after being robbed by a witch.

Agreed, Kahjiits are the best thieves and acrobats. Plus they make pretty good "hit and run" kind of fighters.
