escaping lower reaches(spioler)

Post by ceabug »

after
i retrieved the rod artifact and defeated the unseeing eye for some reason the hidden door that lets one out of the lower reaches is locked and will not open. I have played through the game many times and this has never happened to me. It seems i am trapped. any suggestions?

That is really bizarre... Given that your have previously run through the game I am going to assume you have the right door.

Do you have any mods installed? They could be causing the bug, especially if installed in the wrong order, or without prior installation of the official patch and the Balderdash patch....

Even if you don't have mods installed, you might want to try downloading the afore-mentioned patches, install the official patch first and then the Baldurdash patch.

This happens to me occasionally. You might want to try moving your party around. Sometimes you get a false message that the door is locked but it will open if you try again.

If all else fails I suggest you use areawarp with CLUA.
(It is BG2 that you can do this in, right?)

You don't open that door - crossing a trigger line does. Unfortunately, sometimes the game is a bit slow. Moving your party around as JackOfClubs says should do the trick. If you have enabled cheat keys, you can use CTRL J to move your party to the other side.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
