Opening of HotU (SPOILER)

I know that you get your items stolen in the very beginning of HotU (I wish I hadn't come upon that somewhere, but that's what happens when you read though 20+ pages of NWN forums just to find another bit of info). The question is: do you lose your gold as well?

I had most, if not all, of my gold.

Nope don't lose your gold, so I suggest you start your character off with some cash because I've notice that all the vendors rip you off big time when you sell things and you need a lot of gold to get those weapon upgrades....

Thanks. My Fighter had around 500k by the end of the OC and SoU, so that's good to know.
