Companions freezing

Has anyone had problems with the companions freezing ie not following or fighting - it happened to the lightning war golem and now Joan of arc. There seems to be no answer but go back to an old save i've patched to 1.1 - no help

It's just that they're much slower than you, they simply can't keep up. It gets even worse if you're wearing the boots of speed. They'll rejoin you once you leave an area, or enter a door to another room or level.

Thanks but these are definitely freezing - they come to each level but don't move an inch. I loaded an older game in the end and carried on from there and companian is ok now - weird.

That sounds like a bug, did you install the patch ?

i did, i also sent a game save to the programmers as per their web site but it got returned by their mail server as too big a file ! so i gues i'll zip it and try again.
Apart from those two incidents i've had no problems at all..
