Balthazar (with ascension mod) spoilers perhaps

I am playing through ToB with the Ascension (sorry, I have no idea how to spell it.) mod installled, and according to the auther, you can get Balthazar to join your party. I was just wondering if any of you have done this, and if so what is he like?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Balthazar does not literally join your party; he meets you in Hell before the big battle. You have no control over him, and if he dies, you can't resurrect him. I couldn't keep up with him because he was running around so fast trying to kill my enemies.

In my opinion, it is definitely worth having him "join" you, not so much for the help he gives you in combat, but because it enhances the story. If you try it, you'll see what I mean. (Balthazar has his own Epilogue if he "joins" you.)

The only thing I can't understand is, when he says he'll meet you in Hell, how does he get there? Is is really that simple?

actually you can direct him somewhat, although i agree that he has a powerful mind of his own. he has some monk skills that heal himself so dont be too worried about him dying real fast. his teleportation thing can get annoying though...
