Post by se7en »

What is raw glass or ebony for? Just to sell? or can you make armor with them?

it can be used in alchemy or sold
and if you have the tribunal mod i believe there is a certain armourer who will make you ebony or glass armour. if you have enough cash and raw materials

That is true, but seen as you can get your hands on at least a one complete set of both glass and ebony armour in Tribunal it makes it a slightly useless feature. Especially as it takes ridiculous amounts of raw glass and ebony to make anything.

Good plan - especially when to get the Ebony cuiress it costs you 25000gp and 30 pieces of ebony.

It's all over the place. Lots of people wear it. The bandit in Sargon (Ald Ruhn fighters guild quest) wears some pieces. There's a nearly complete set in the deadric ruins near Ald Velothi (Ashalmalwia Shrine). There's a vampire in the Red Mountain area, within Ghostgate, that is wearing a set (Salvel Ancestral Tomb I think its called - near the NE cornor inside of Ghostgate fence). Ebony swords and shields are best gotten by killing dremora lords or golden saints. If you become head of House Redoran you get a complete set off Lord Venim. Anyway, there's lots of places you can get it by just doing the guild quests. Personally I don't think its worth the weight. A better heavy curaiss would be the Dragonbone. Personally I like glass armor the best with the boots of blinding speed (or boots of the apostle) and Saviors Hide curaiss substituted for the glass. Also the guantlets from Ilinibi and perhaps the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw (both heavy items).

In Tribunal you can get a full set of glass armour off Golena Sadri if you follow the quest that revolves around her to the conclusion, you also get some other really cool items, Deadric longbow for example and a really cool mace whose name escapes me.

The easiest (this is a relative term) place to get ebony armour in Tribunal is off Gaenor the annoying wood elf.

i knew about the ebony weapons, and i "found" most of a set in vivec, i'm a light armour class anyway, so it would just be for coolness factor, also does that little bugger in mournhold suddenly develop it when you dont give him money, cos when he attacks me i cant actually hit him let alone damage him, is this a random affect of his armour?

Gaenor has a really high agility and luck level so its very hard to hit him with anything unless you have a level of 90 or more with a weapon. He also reflects most spells back at you.

If you give him any money then refuse to give him any more he swears vengence on you, then two days later he turns up in the Temple Courtyard with a full set of ebony armour, ebony longsword, ebony sheild and a nice constant effect +15 luck amulet. He is one of the tougher fights in the game.

Oh goody, I'm glad I refused to give him more money during my brief visit to Mournhold! :D He sounds like he's quite the trophy.

How have people found fighting him? I'm only at level 21, but I made long blade a major skill and Red Gaurds have a +15 bonus with it, so now I'm at around 95.. which means I'll have maxed by the time I get back to Mournhold.

I think the best way of beating the little guy is summoning loads of creatures to distract him (he does not hit well or strongly) so you have plenty of time to lay into him from behind.

You know.. I don't see why people like to abuse Fargoth so much  , but I seriously wonder if the fact that Gaenor ressembles him is coincidental :D
