Gah! Blasted dragons! *possible spoilers*

Post by Squee »

Hi, I'm currently soloing a sorcerer, I'm on level 16 (got ToB installed). And I can't beat those blasted dragons! How do you beat dragons when plaing a solo sorcerer?
You guys are my best friends, we've always been together, we're four of a kind laughing all day and palling away, we're best friends!

In the good ol' days when I was a yound lad and solo'ed a sorcerer, I was quite partial to lower resistance spells. First you summon a good number of pets for the dragon to attack (they should have fire/acid/whatevertypeofdragonitis resitance and so should you). Then you cast lower resistance several times. Then you either cast lower-saving-throws spell (forgot the name) a couple of times followed by finger of death or desintegrate or just fry him with conventional spells.

If you are up for cheese, get a wand of cloudkill, go out of sight and empty the wand near the dragon (the dragon itself being out of sight). It won't turn hostile. It will just slowly die. Go drink a cup of tea. Magic resistance or not by the time you're back the dragon will be dead.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Not with the mods. Then They'll atack.

Try lowering res, potion of (dragon power) resistance, and if you can sequence spells, a nice combo will be 2 times lower res with a greater malison spell. And contingency stoneskin and imunities.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

cloudkill wont work on some dragons (firkraag especially). When they reach near death they cast HEAL. cloudkill only lasts long enough to kill a dragon once.

Have you ever heard any more inspiring or logical words? I sure haven't.

That's why you use a wand and cast 5 or 6 of 'em.
