HoU Best Charater

Just finish NWN with a sorcerer level 15th. In HoU, are the spellcaster henchman easy to control? I wish to play a more bestial character like Dwarf or Paladin but with a good spell at the back.
If i move for a red dragon disciple, what the best? keep my existing player or take a new one?

If you want to stick with your character, I'd take him up to level 20 (17 at the least, so you could cast a level 9 spell), Then take 10 levels of RDD and 10 levels of Fighter/Paladin (the latter only if you're Lawful Good).

A new character would probably be slightly better, especially since you get level 15 when you start HotU, so you wouldn't be losing out on time or whatnot.
