Arghh!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by joplin »

I install BG2 and can play it. I switch my computer off and when I switch it back on and try to play BG2, it asks if I want to install BG2.
I`ve got a registry checker and it indicates nothing amiss there.
I`ve uninstalled and searched everywhere to ensure that I`ve deleted everything, reinstalled and the same thing happens again.
This is with and without TOB.
I`ve been trying for ages to find the answer (apart from chucking BG2 into the bin).
I`d be grateful if anyone has any answers.
cheers

It sounds like you interrupted a BG2 installation or deinstallation at some point, leaving "messages" in your registry that it isn't currently installed. I suggest not only deinstalling it, but using a registry editor to remove all references to BG2 or Baldur. Note, be sure to backup your registry before doing any of this.

Then, reboot, and try installing again.

One more point: please put an indication of your question in your thread title. The site owner doesn't like "blind threads," and you'll also get more people looking in to help out. ;) Good luck.

Had the same problem.
Reinstall the game, uninstall it. and then reinstall it again.
Then the problem is solved.

PS. reboot after every install/uninstall just to be sure.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

I did the exact same thing, except with BG1. It was in the middle of installing, and you know how afterwards it asks if you want to install certain programs? Well, I accidently said yes, and then since another window popped up I said cancel, and now the game is half installed. :(
No probalo.
