Is there a way to raise the resolution?
Because I wanted to start a new character to let him (or her, I don't know yet) go trough the complete BG-series, but when I saw the horrible 640*480 resolution that idea suddenly left my mind.

No, it's not possible, but I believe the BG TuTu mod supports 800by600 but BG1 doesn't.
