Why? What's at stake. Both are old classic games. Personally FO2 in much more fun than the pointless gameplay of Diablo2 (I've never been able to finish it as I get bored after to long). I just finished yet another game of FO2 and I'm still not tired of playing it. But FO2 and Diablo2? - they aren't even comparible games, so why is this poll even being taken? Yes, I'm way to lazy to use your link to even check it out. Anyway, I prefer Diablo 1 over Diablo 2 for completely mindless gaming. Besides, if you can vote multiple times then the poll is completely meaningless. You just have to find enough morons with nothing better to do all day that vote over and over again.

2 very diffrent games...
If someone asked me wich game is more fun to play for a week I would say Fallout2. However after that week when you have completed the game there really isnt much more. Unlike Diablo 2, being crazy and pump one skill (like speech) is pointless, very pointless. Maybe you try making a kung fu type of guy, or a sniper. Could add some time of joy. Ive just played fo2 for a wek now but although Im having a great time(no..Fantastic!) I realize that it will shortly be over.

Diablo 2 on the other hand I played for 3 years, so they are veeery diffrent. I wouldnt call Diablo 2 an rpg even, cause it was just during the first week or so that the rpg elements was intense kinda. The other 150 weeks was purley character builds and item hunting.

The reason why diablo won in the poll I think is becuase:

* more ppl play it
* multiplayer - being a part of a party where your stupid char build add something

* Lasts longer

But like I said, if I was to play on of the games from start to the end cinematics I would choose FO2 any time. But I,m on a hunt for a new game to last for the next 3 years

so FO2 is a nice break indeed ^^

Funny -it was the direct oppersite for me.
I tried Diablo 1 once - but after I found the leveldesign to be allmost identical (yeah yeah - I know it is random design, but .... it still felt like the same through the various levels and restarts - Daggerfall had a better random dungeon generator) and all the monsters were from a select few models just with a different name and color.
Multiplayer is the only thing Diablo 1 has that speaks for replay-value, otherwise it is so very tediously uniform

Fallout 2 on the otherhand I've replayed countless of times in my old days, trying new character types, solutions to problemes (blow this up, assassinate this character, find a cure for jet, become addicted to whatever, see if that extra toe actually does something bla bla bla).
F2 had so more debth, involvement and gameplay then diablo ever could get

But you are right - they are 2 different games, and I wouldn't classify Diablo as a RPG either

And I also think the reason Diablo beat F2 was alone due to the masses that play Diablo.

I can't see how they could even be compared in such a poll, though.

Repeative level design agreed, but as I recall I was scared to death every minute anyway

So Diablo 1 for me was unforgettable. But the poll was about Diablo 2 and Diablo 2 is quite diffrent then the first, more action and items focus, the work they did on items in that game are beyond anything and everything.
