Help!

Post by morningdove »

In the Earth Temple, after I tell Romag that the huge viper is dead, he asks me to give a sealed note to Rentsch in Nulb. After I accept this quest, all the creatures inside his room attacks me and my Paladin becomes fallen. What happened?

First of all, have faith :)

There could be several reasons why this happened but first of all:

Your Paladin is lawful good and all the priests in the temple are chaotic evil. A Paladin can NEVER do quests for evil people, that immediately makes him fallen.

1)
Have you accidently killed some other Earth temple inhabitants while doing the first Romag quest ? That can lead to a battle after the dialog ends. Try reloading and say no to the second task, if battle still occurs it is unavoidable.

2)
Have you equipped the Brown Temple Robes on all characters ?
They are in a chest on the entrance level. Without them on you are more likely to be attacked.

3)
Did you use your Paladin to speak with Romag ? Try putting him at the back of the group or outside the room and start the dialog with another PC. That may avoid his fall and allow you to do the quests.

4)
Have you all the latest patches installed ? Without them the game is horribly BUGGED. The official patch is a must-have and you should also install the unofficial CO8 patch afterwards, it solves many problems.

Lastly i'll recommend you to just kill the evil priests if you like having your Paladin in the front. There are 4 of them, each giving you 3 quests and each of them will ask you to assassinate on of the others. Plus the xp gained from the quests is very low.

If your paladin falls, travel immediately to Terjon, the High Priest in the Church Of St.Cuthbert in Homlet. Talk to him and he'll restore your Paladin for a price(2000gp,i think)

And BTW, Welcome to the board!

Hope this helps you out some :) :) :)
 Oh, When all else fail, put the Dwarf up front!
