Do you wear stuff for the looks or strength, if looks, how often do you change?

I wear my own fav outfit thats not my strongest stuff, and wear it every day!

Hey, I was playin Morrowind and I hated my outfit, it was all the most powerful stuff I had so, since I was quite strong, is it kind of like stupid to wear stuff thats not your best but makes you happy with how they look?

lol! :D
I didn't fill out the poll because none of the options quite worked for me. But my character tends to wear stuff that I like the looks of and suits my personal style, and I change if I find something different or I decide the game is getting too easy.

For example, right now I have my character dressed in glass cuirass, pauldrons and boots. I had been using the glass bracers and dark brotherhood greaves too, but I wanted to work up my unarmored skill so I removed them. And yeah, since I liked the dark-coloured greaves with the glass armor when I removed them I went for black pants. I may also see if I can find a skirt that suits the glass cuirass

Or sometimes I'll put a robe on if I want to appear more innocent :p

Oh, and even though I have a glass helmet, I always go without, I just don't like them. Might have something to do with the fact that I don't like hats in real life.

right now, my armour looks horrible and doesn't provide the best protection. basically, most of my kit is heavy - daedric or unique stuff - because a) lots of protection and b) it's a major class skill, and I like gaining levels. also, I have a bit of light armour as well, because the skill isn't maxed out and I like the multipliers. but yeah, once I max heavy armour, then I go to glass, then I go unarmoured, then I really start concentrating on looking good.

my main character is simply built to be badass. my monk and ninja may stick to character and look good, so they'll soon simply go for the best balance between good looking stuff and defence, rather than skill-boosting like my main dude.

i wear the pieces of armor that i think look good like i dont wear helmets, but of those pieces of armor i wear the strongest. infact i only wear 3 pieces of armor, i think i like using unarmored on the rest of me. Torso: light armor, Left arm: medium armor, Right pauldron: Heavy armor, i like the speed and ability to jump being unarmored, but sometimes i like to empty out my inventory completely and then even im amazed by my speed and jumps. i actually like bounding items most :)

actually i think i only wear the armor id wear in real life now to think about it, and the way i fight and spells i use are the same as id pick in real life. i wouldnt wear heavy armor(except the right pauldron, good for blocking heavy weapons) or especially armored shoes, i just wear clothing shoes. in real life i like the speed...damn
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

i where whatever armour suits me at the time, which is never the strongest, for example i where the cuirass which rpovides 60% magic resistance, this isnt my strongest armour (I have lots of glass armour) but I hate people that dont fight properly, i.e. who'll launch fireballs at you as opposed to attacking you with a blade. This means that i need the protection.

Sayin that though, my armour class is light and I where the daedric face of inspiration (heavy), so it provides F. all protection, but I wear it cos it looks good with my robe, I dont wear overly fancy armour because it pokes through th robe and looks ridiculous.
so I think I go for looks more

LOL :D ... Can't believe I'm the only one who uses the strongest armor... See it like this:
You have a full set of netch leather armor, and a full set of glass armor, but you don't wear the glass armor because you think the netch leather armor looks better, how stupid is that??? Let's fight, I'm wearing the glass armor and you are wearing the netch I'll kick your ARSE :D :D

look you sweaty b*tch, i'll have your head off with a steel tipped arrow before you can draw your sword. remember, glass armour's helmet is open faced... :D

part of the game is making the character how you want it to be, I dont want to be laden down with glass armour if i'm trying to run away from something, so that leaves me the option to pick a lighter armour, thats easier to repair, that looks good, its just a personal preference man, its not "stupid"

damn straight. my monk still has light armour as a minor skill, and slapping on some glass will boost my armour class way above my well-developed unarmoured skill. but I'm a monk. so I don't.

stupid? well, after playing through a huge amount of the game as a quite disturbingly rock-hard warrior, I want a change. basically, it's all too easy to just load up on the heaviest stuff you can find, then stagger towards your enemy before standing still and beating them unconcious with a spoon - or crushing them to death by falling over onto them.

but blieve me, after 50-odd levels, countless enemies, and more shiny pointy stabby things than you can shake a daedric stick at, I feel a yearning for strategy. sneaking, flying, hit and run, tactical use of spells and skills to incapacitate your foes. I want start caring about fighting again.

that's why so many people don't just go for stronger and stronger armour. it's only fun while there is undiscovered, even stronger armour out there. when you've seen it all, it's hard to care less about it.
