Games Controls Disappear NEED HELP! PLEASE!

Alright, I give up. I have tried to learn about mods and - I am just not smart enough. S'okay, I can live with that, now I just want to be able to play an extended (modded) game.

One question:

After spending a few weeks D/L and 10 hours installing, I find that...

I can START a new game, but when I save/go back later then EVERYTHING except the game screen is gone -character portraits, control boxes on the left and bottom- and will ONLY appear when I press pause. Whilst game is playing, forget it.

Also, everytime I come back to a saved game I open to a blank (black) screen and it is a devil of a time finding the characters...often, forget it.

If it matters I am playing:

Installed, the SoA/ToB two pac (came together)
NeverEnding Journey
Tortured Souls
(Had CtB but uninstalled it)
Banter pac
Flirt pac
various add on mods and upgrades

I EVEN, as God is my witness, UNISTALLED EVERYTHING up to and including the original game and spent another ten hours RE-INSTALLING everything.

I promise, if someone can simply tell me how to get the damned thing working so it can be played, I will never ask another thing of this forum again!

Have you tried pressing the 'H' key? If I remember right, that is the one that removes the interface.

Unless you remapped the keys, 'H' will indeed act as a toggle for the control interface. Some people even prefer playing this way.

Similar keys: Try 'Y' and 'U' to hide various sections of the User Interface.

You sure have a lot of mods installed

I hope you can get along and enjoy the game now, after all the effort installing this monster. Let us know how your game progresses. Im also thinking of trying out NeJ / TS / BP on my next game, so im interested to hear what you think of these.

And for heavens sake, enjoy ToB!

I did that and I found out later once I had formatted my harddrive and started again because I thought my harddrive was going for a ball of chalk.

I felt like such an idiot, because I was right near the end of the game.

I still kick myself.

You more than likely just pressed the "H" key, so just tap it again once you have loaded up your game.

I hope that this will solve the problem.
