Well, it took my a while but I finally killed Firkraag (sp). Summoned many monsters to his backside to keep him busy. Still lost Aerie and Jahiera.
I thought a good wizard replacement for Aerie would be Jan, but when I attempt to talk to him it says 'Jan has nothing to say to you'. Does anyone know why? Did I miss my opportunity to get him in my party?
FINALLY killed my first Dragon - Jan question
You mean they were so lost that you couldn't ressurect them? I admire your going on after permanently losing 2 charactes, I would have reloaded.
Jan would be a good replacement for Aerie's mage side but not her cleric side. Really any characters you choose will alter the composition of your party so I would have to know who you have to know who to recommend.
As far as Jan goes, I don't know what your dealing with him has already been. If you turned him in it's likely he won't be happy with you, but otherwise I would think he'd join up.

I've got (had) the same problem with Jan. He just stands there and in the dialog windows the test "Jan has nothing to say to you" pops up. I recall the seeing him for the first time - I didn't even talk to him so I haven't turned him in or anything ...

He might be in two places at once, try talking to him in both or sleeping next to him - these are theories. You could try killing him in one area he might appear in another (save before you do anything as drastic as this) it might clear up things - and it might be amusing
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
