Do i want to summon a demon?
HHHMMM not a chance .... everytime i try this we summon the demon it directly kills corrinna (i think thats her name) and then attacks me and he is one mean great summoned demon. I was able to kill it but once summoned she is sposed to to banish it back from whence it came. She then teaches you banish ... is this a bug or have i done something i shudnt have?? ...

You've got the wrong tree branch.
The merchant in Verdistis *thinks* he has a rare branch from a special tree in the Dark Forest, but he only took somebody else's word for it (which is clear when you speak to him). You have to travel far to the south in the Dark Forest, and then you'll discover the Ancient: a tree that can be manipulated into giving you the branch you need.First, though, I'd suggest speaking with the Alchemist, a gent who lives in a house some ways to the west of the Ancient. He'll give you another quest involving the tree. Since you only get one shot at speaking with the Ancient and threatening him, it's best to hit him up for the two quests at the same time.
