Aerie's Child (Minor Spoiler)

Post by Borja »

I'm romancing Aerie. Everything is ok, but I'm about to finish the game and our child hasn't been born yet. How long should I wait? I really want to see it, as everybody says it's worthwhile...

What?? I only romanced Aerie once and it was a long time ago, but I think I would've remembered if the child had actually been born... :( I don't think it's going to happen, at least not in-game.

Coot is right. The romance ends forever after the dialogue you and she discusses how they are going to handle the baby, and what if it is born when they are still adventuring and so on. More to come in the epilogue ;)

Really?? So that's the end of the romance?? :(
I had read that you got married to her and you had a child and so on... are you completely sure?
Look the site below. It says you actually have the child, and you can even chose his/her name! I would really love to see it! It must be quite funny.
It also says the period of gestation lasts just two weeks  but I've waited more than that and still nothing...

The baby can and does get born during the game. You've just got to give it enough time. Leave the game running while you walk away and watch a movie or something, eventually the timers will count down and you'll get your next romance dialogue from her. There's certain commands that can be used to immediately incite the next dialogue, but I'm afraid at this point in time I forget what they are (it's very late and really should be in bed :P ). Just do a search in the forums for romance guides, it'll be in there somewhere.

I was actually searching on this, and another member confirmed this last year. He said it took about 30 game days after your character and Aerie say their vows of marriage.

30 days!!!
Wow, I suppose I'll have to sleep a lot! :p
I'll try to see what happens... Have you ever done it? I feel curious. Where do you carry the baby? In your bag like a familiar?

At last!

Ladies and gentlemen, my main character is now officially a father!

It did take some traveling and resting, but it happened. Now all I need to do is beat the final battle, and that's it!!

Hmm... I'll just take your word for it then. Well, that's a good reason to play BG once again...

Well, I'm going to uninstall BG2 and give it a break for a good long time after I finally beat the final battle. It's about time I finally got that out of my mind.

And how long did it take?
I'm travelling and sleeping a lot, but still nothing... Maybe I'm not patient enough! But I've waited for much more than 30 days!

Did you beat all of the challenges in the pocket plane? That's when the clock really starts ticking.

If you have, then I don't really know what to say. Besides, it actually happened to me in a bit less than 20 game days. Yes, it was quite a shock.

I did it!!! :D
I'm a father now, hehehe.
Unluckily you can't choose the name of the baby. What a pity.
I'll try to attach an image of the baby, although I'm afraid it's in Spanish...

Well, I was able to understand about 90% of it, translating it from the words of the same description box in English

Translation:

This is the baby of Aerie and <Charname>. He seems quite cute.

Overall, congratulations, man, even if it is just in the game. ;)

Listo?! What kind of a name is that? I would've named him after his grandfather or something.
And I still think you guys are pulling my leg... :)
