Does anyone know anything of the up-coming Elder Scrolls IV?

Weld the gates to heaven shut,
the abyss leers in hissing ruts.
Unhilt the black grimoire of death,
Inscribe all names that God has left.
------------------------------------
And in those frozen moments won
From grief that creeps to wreathe the sun
In drapes inwove with deathshead wing
I thank God for the suffering
the abyss leers in hissing ruts.
Unhilt the black grimoire of death,
Inscribe all names that God has left.

In drapes inwove with deathshead wing

*sigh* I can see how the game would lend itself to a MMPORG... but I'm really not wild about them....

Well I do really like the concept and idea of massive mutlyplayer role playing, but I'm not keen on monthly payments and they should be clear to follow and easy to do alone as well. I think that Diablo 2 set an example here, you just needed the game and you could play the game online.
But I like the idea of at least a multiplayer mode (since I am missing it now in morrowind)

My feelings exactly... I was really hoping Bethesda might not succumb to that obsession.Originally posted by Coot
IMHO the last thing we need is yet another fantasy mmorpg...
I think, unfortunately, that the market for well-made single-player RPGs is smaller and less profitable than the one for online games, 'action RPGs' or purely console games. Morrowind, while good for different reasons, is at least as well done as Planescape Torment and Shadows of Amn, it is a shame that the move is now away from quality games such as this

mmorpgs arent any fun for people with slow internet connection or people that arent willing to spend all there free time chopping down wood or killing insignificant creatures so they can gain a measly level only to be killed by some massive pk... granted multiplayer games can be fun i still prefer d&d as my source of multiplayer rping, and my comp is for great rpgs, like morrowind with graphics

I wonder if it would be worthwhile attempting to set up a petition....
Though, I'm honestly not sure if it would have an effect.. as I mentioned earlier the gaming industry is generally moving towards online games and the like since they are deemed more profitable....

No, there's nothing wrong with MMORPG's, I just think that, at this moment, there are more than enough fantasy-oriented ones. It would be nice if some company came up with something original. Like... a western. Or something prehistoric (Neanderthal Online)...Originally posted by lifeishell91
Why dont you people enjoy MMORPG's? They are the only type of games that I actually enjoy....did I miss something that gave MMORPG's a bad name?![]()

I couldn't agree more. There goes all the unique and moddable flavor of Morrowind, out the window.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
