We were playing Onslaught at a LAN party; it rocks. Of course, that was only the demo.
I picked up the full version last week, but I have to wait until next weekend to try it out against my friends.
The vehicles rock and it plays like multiplayer Halo should have played; Halo was slow and felt like a console game. UT2004 blows it away.

I still prefer the original UT over the latest versions. The newer ones, I feel, have taken too much away from what I liked about the original, and packaged it in a flashier case. To me, the speed in which the game plays is ridiculous, most of the weapons horrible ineffective (And before anyone says it, I am an avid FPS player, and quite talented at them as well, so I do know how to make use of whatever I'm given), and the gameplay itself to easily swayed to a single side. I mean, one person shouldn't be able to make as a big a difference in a game of onslaught as it seems to in UT2K4.
Not only that, but the level designs are lack luster, at best. They look impressive, but they don't play as impressively.
And I won't even get started on how much I hate the ingame voice chat... Now every pre-pubecent twit with a mic can be heard. Nothing ruins a game like incessant shouts of 'Newb"![]()
