I was just wondering,
How does the save vs spell(and other things) work?
I believe i undertstand most of the rulings by now but i still didn't figure this one out.
Also, what version of aD&D is used in BGII? this would help find some other answers on questions if any new problems are found
Thanks in advance

Let's search for treasure!
a saving throw (or save, in short) is a concept that allows some ramdomality in RPG's, basically enabling low-level vs. high-level char fights not to be TOTALLY pre-determined.
the saving throw is a roll of a 20-sided dice (d20), where every character has a number that the roll must EXCEED to avoid or half the negative effect. the number is derrived from class and level, and can be modified by items and such.
so, the LOWER your save vs. something is, the better.
the general rules system used in BG2 is AD&D 2nd edition, not D&D 3rd ed.
hope this helps.

AD&D rules FAQ
Dan Simpson has a pretty decent guide to the 2nd Ed. AD&D rules FAQ. I think his latest version is 4.3. You might be able to download it at:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/
http://www.gamewinners.com/
At least those are the sites listed in the FAQ (version 4.3)
