Imaginary mods (or inspiration)

Post by dragon wench »

Okay, if you were skilled at mod creation (I'm still trying to understand the TES... ) and you had unlimited amounts of time what sort of Morrowind mod would you bring out?

I only just thought of a thread topic like this (killing time until the 5 PM bell chimes at work :p ) so have not considered the question much myself yet.

i would make a mod with like 10 new races new textures and many more dwarven equpment like another set of armore or even a bow since there is none..... or at least ive never found it

but only 3 of the races would be playable......

i have become quite good with the tes costruction set

but not as near as good as i would want but.

I was giving this some thought, and I figure it would be fun to create an entire underwater city largely populated by Argonians and Dreugh.

i wanna make a mod where you have to go the bathroom, to make morrowind even more realistic! i already have all the realism plugins installed but still no bathrooms, i figure you could use a cauldron as a chamber pot and depending on what alchemical ingredients you eat changes what your, uh, waste looks like... that would be so cool.

also i would make children and expand all the towns to make morrowind more like gta instead of such a static place

and maybe sometype of horse riding or guar riding or something to ride to make the game more interesting and faster

To somehow be able to turn into a god, or Finish the entire TAMRIEL (thats the world for the game people I think) It would be so cool, and have an armorer somewhere be able to turn your armor into a colour you like without have to chsnge it with some construstion thing. It would be nice for XBOX users. :)

I'd try to give Morrowind more life. First I'd teach all the NPCs how to sleep ( in a bed), to sit on chairs and talk to each other. Ehm...everything what THIS GUY tries to do. But he wants to do it himself so I doubt that he'll finish the mod before TES 4 will be released....
Schedules for NPCs, unique NPCs, families, a real economy (!!!), living Guides ( real relationship between the Guilds!) and so on.

Then I'd try to change the character animations ( but as far as I know that's impossible).

And there have to be children....

And I'd add better quests. Not the typical "go to X, talk to Y and get Z and come back". For thieves real sneaking, time pressure and so on ( more or less what THIS mod do, but according to all thieves guild quests). Magicans need longer to raise in rank and have to fight against competitors ( like the Khajit and the Altmer do). Fighters will have to do a more bloody job and tactics will be more important.

Then I'd add more options for bad characters. Especially according to the special encounters. For instance that girl near Pelgiad who wants you to take the glove to that rouge. You can say yes or no. But you should have the possibility to say "Mhm...I think I'm gonna slit your throat only to be sure you don't got anything of value" or whatever. The same changes according to quests. Bloodbath, diplomacy, sneaking or magic....

And yea...I'm working on it. At least on the "more options for bad characters" thingie. I still have to learn how to make own dialoges though...

My idea for a massive mod would be... difficult, to say the least.

I find it fascinating exploring the dwemer/daedric/dunmer ruins. It really gets me feeling I'm in a millenia-old ruin. Mainly, however, it makes me wonder what this place was like when it was at the pinnacle of its glory.

My idea for a mod would completely change Vvardenfell to the time of the War of the First Council (that was the one in which the Dwemer were destroyed, Dagoth Ur put to sleep, Nerevar triumphed, right?). It'd add a Dwemer race. The PC would have to be either a Dwemer or a Dunmer. Nearly all of the original Vvardenfell towns would be eliminated and instead all those places like Valenvaryon, Falasmaryon, Marandus, and all those would become Dunmer towns. The traditional Dwemer ruins would be taken away and in their place Dwemer towns would be built. The PC would be able to take sides with either the Dunmer and Nerevar or the Dwemer and Kangrenac.

The Dwemer would have their headquarters at Red Mountain. I'm not sure where Nerevar had his HQ, but oh well.

Meanwhile, Dagoth Ur is sitting in Kogoruhn, pretending to help the Dunmer. Eventually, however, he'd turn to Kagrenac and thus the battle and Red Mountain would ensue.

The missions would be different than normal Morrowind. Hopefully more mob scenes/fights and more political intrigue. It'd also be more realistic, so you couldn't crush an entire dwemer/dunmer town in one go. The battle at Red Mountain would be suitably huge (and adept at crashing poorer systems.)

Probably the most difficult part would be created new textures and stuff for what the Dunmer/Dwemer/Dædric ruins would have looked like.

But I think if it were done it would be awesome. I just suck w/ the TES (Ok, I haven't really used it)

I found the ideas from the April's fool-topic really great, with a high enough leviate spell you could be able to go to the moon.

The april fools topic was just what i was thinking about. I've seen all types of armor, from chitin to daedric and after a while I just want some less boundries. So why not be able to create your own type of armor. You could choose the armor rating, how it looks, and stuff like that. There is already for it skill, armorer. There could be special people to make it for you, but it would be at a proce of at least 100,000 dollars or gold thingers for just the curass and like 300,000 dollars for the complete set of it.

Illuminated Order

Wenchy: Have you tried the Illuminated Order mod? Its huge, interesting and very well done. It includes an underwater dreugh city within a giant skar crab shell - like the one in Ald'Ruhn. It adds a bunch of great quests, great areas, is well scripted and is very original. It also pulls together a lot of things in the game that were left dangling like the daedric shrine quests. Its basically an extra guild or cult you can join.

I agree the game should have kids in it - like in Fall Out 2 where half of them are pickpockets working for neferious pawnshop owners. While the game has a racial disposition preference when you talk to someone of your own race it doesn't seem to distinguish interactions between chars of the opposite sex. Its kind of creepy to be playing a male char and have a male Bosmer say to you "I think you're a thief, because you've stolen my heart". Thats not right. There are only three interactions in the game that seem to be sex based - the meeting with the rogue on the road from Seyda Neen to Pelagiad, the admiring female Khajit in the Pelagiad inn and the Telvanni man hating councilor in Tel Mora. That's a pretty lame implementation of it and could be the basis for a big mod.

I would create and expand the Bestiary, and get more interesting creatures and monsters from our real-world myth, like Chimera, Hydra, Griffins, Medusae and of course Dragons! I would also create a real gothic haunted castle, with ghosts, ghouls, whathaveya. Maybe something really nasty and Lovecraft-ish in the cellar. :D

Then I would create an Internal Affairs division for the Regulators in Vivec, who will show up and kill them each time they're out of line.

There's a mod which adds dragons to Morrowind. And other mods add more creatures..."Giants" for instance.

1. Various romance options(I know there is a 'Lora Craft' romance mod, but I'd like something akin to the 'Shadows of Amn' romances, with some choices etc).

2. Childeren, yes! Maybe combined with the romance mod... wouldn't it be great if you could romance, perhaps marry, have childeren, buy a house, etc.?
After that it would keep going... you'd have to raise the kids, with all the unique MW trouble that would bring ("No daughter of mine is dating a $#@& Argonian!!").
Maybe, if you're not home often enough, you'll be in danger of losing your wife ("I don't care if you're cheating, honey... but does it have to be that fat bald Breton from next door??!").
And what about your partner? Would (s)he have his/her own career? What if (s)he became head of one of the other Houses? What if (s)he turns out to be, say, a member of the Morang Tong? What if (s)he is more powerful than you? Could you/your PC handle that?

3. It would be nice if you could actually lead a guild. For instance, after a lot of hard work my PC became Factor of Raven Rock and Master Thief of the Thieves Guild... and there it ended. But it should go on.

4. Invasion! VVardenfell gets invaded by a whole new race or faction. If you don't react fast enough or make the wrong choices, maybe Balmora would end up in ruins! Ald Ruhn gets conquered!
This new enemy has unique and terrifying abilities, like, uh... and... eh...
How would you try to end the war? Assassinate their king or whatever? Try diplomacy? Use Speechcraft to turn the enemy's generals against eachother? Form your own army? Unite the Great Houses and/or unite the Ashlander tribes? Train cliff racers and slaughterfish to attack only the enemy so they'll be annoyed to death?

5. The ability to train certain animals so you can ride them. Tuslebacks in Solstheim, cliff racers in Morrowind (so they'll actually be useful!).

That's more or less something I've thought about, too. The Nords trying to whipe the Imperials out of Morrowind. Or maybe something smaller like...about 50 undead creatures attacking Balmora and are under the controll of a necromancer, who wants to destroy the temple. It could start when the character reaches level 10, then the first creatures attack Balmora. Every guild will react to the new threat and depending on which guild one belongs to one gets new quests. Everything with a bad and a good storyline. Maybe it would be better for the Morag Tong, if the Temple is destroyed and maybe the necromancer could be a powerfull ally? Arg, all I can do is building some houses...no scripting, no dialogues...I'd do it ;)

I would love to see Morrowind online with clan based mentalities. Say a guild/clan owns a mine, they can then create their own armor, but that means that they have to have someone guarding it all the time because if its taken from you you're hooped... you could have 1 npc guard for three actual players in the area

I would like to see some creatures that are Impossible to kill at any level, because its always fun to run like hell...

If the game was online, It would be sweet to have a 50 on 50 battles with warriors archers and mages batteling it out. The real advantage would be towards the nords because they could cast 100 frost damage on themselves in a 50 ft radius, that wound't hurt them at all, but any non nord would be devistated, if you get multiple nords together, you could wipe out an entire army in one giant frost bubble.....

You should have the ability to lock something up to 1000 to prevent your goods from being stolen, and then eventually magically sealed.

I would also add more characters to create more of a balance with each having advantages and disadvantages over each other.

The ability to mine ores and create your own armor and weapons would be cool aswell.
Level 47 Orc Custom Class
Arch mage of Mages Guild
Master Thief of Thieves Guild
Master of Fighters guild
Master in House telvanni
Skills:Major around 80 Minor around 60
Light glass armor with Curiass of the saviors hide and custom enchantments (Fortify intellegence as much as I can on all my armor as a CE, CE rings and amulets of fortify magica and strength, various destructive amulets. Glass tower shield with absorb health 100 pts)
Weapons :D aedric Claymore (Absorb health +Fatigue)
Daedric Axe (Absorb Health +Fatigue)
Daedric Warhammer (Absorb Health+Fatigue)
