Those are the only two patches I have, and I am able to access my rules folder.

Maybe just double check:

ToEE folder -> Data folder -> Rules folder -> item_creation

I imagine you could also do a search on your computer for the document "item_creation" or "rules" folder.

I noticed there are other items we can't make that are in the item_creation document - defending, disrupting, thundering, wounding, etc... at least with the flaming burst, you can modify the file to make it available. The others are just there to tease us I guess.

Expansion, anyone?

The CO8 patch has made many more enchantments availible, and it's all done by "text editing".

I would imagine that in near future more Craft options will be availible as it's an important game feature.

The Brew Potion is heavily flawed, all 1st to 3rd lvl spells should be "brewable" , if the spell has a target of "self", or "person"

The item_creation.mez file isn't availible for editing until you install the CO8 patch AFAIK.

I strongly suggest all dedicated players to fool around with the .mez files and report back if anything useful info is gained.

Let's rip this game apart and make it into what it should be :

A fun game to play and a true heir to the BG/IWD series!

For Glory :) :) :)
 Oh, When all else fail, put the Dwarf up front!

Yah - and if you muddle around with an editor (it's probably in the feats document, too), you'll see that feats such as craft staff and forge ring are in there - of course, we can't do anything with them now (AFAIK), but you never know what the future holds...

seems to be a problem with the Co8 patch:

what I have done so far:

1. Installed TOEE

2. Installed the Atari patch

3. Installed the: TOEE Co8 200.exe patch (the latest (?) version including a set-up - cause I have no idea what to do with the .rar files.

(both patches launched from the directory with the toee.exe - don't know if that makes any difference)

what happened:

1. don't get the rules folder at any point - only

- art
- sound
- movies

I also used search for: item_creation.mes - on my TOEE folder and found nothing !

2. seems that at least the Co8 features: fogless towns & masterwork weapons don't work also...

....think I need some advice how to solve this problem...

...thanks in advance !

Sounds like you've got the wrong patch.

I heard there was a mod that eliminated fog of war, but that is not the Co8 2.0 patch that I have - that is something else.

...and I installed thisone after the atari patch...

...if you have another patch please be so kind and give me the link...

...thanks !

EDIT: or did you use the .rar patch ?

Hmm - the 2.0 patch is the right one, but I do not have the fog lifted from my towns, and my patch was not a .rar

The link I used to download the patch I use is this one:

http://www.kasec.org/toee/TOEE_Co8_200.zip

I don't know why it would make a difference, since the patch itself should be the same, but who knows?
