It IS possible!

Post by unregisturd »

Ever since I've started the game, I've always wanted to know if you could punch someone to death, but when I would try to, I would never have enough patience before I'd get aggravated and finish 'em off with my dagger. Well, I've just recently started a new game, because I messed up in my last one and it just got worse and worse, so when I went to kill Foryn Gilnith (or whatever his name is, the tax collector's murderer), I decided I was gonna get my Hand-to-hand skill up. So, I put away my dagger and punched and punched and punched and punched...... After about 15 minutes or so, he fell to the ground and I thought he was dead, so I was like, "Whoohoo!", but then he got up again and I realized that I had only gotten his fatigue down! So, I duked it out with him for about 15 more minutes, and eventually, he fell to the ground, dead. Needless to say, I was happy. I broke out the skooma and celebrated. I just wanted to let you all know, in case you might have been getting frustrated like I did, it IS possible to punch someone into a bloody pile of pulp with your bare fists. :D

P.S. My Hand-to-hand skill went from 5 to 30. :D

try getting your h2h to 100, then you'll know just how great a skill it is. bit of a risk if you're going unarmoured on 100 difficulty against a group of hard hitters. but if you are careful, and you hit all of their fatigues down, then you can keep them all on the floor and hit whichever gets up. its amusing

Ha ha! That's so great! My Unarmored is at 100. ;) But yeah, this time around, I'm upping all the skills that I didn't in my first game. My first game was so boring... I used a long blade and nothing but a long blade, and I couldn't use any other weapon. Ha ha. Dumb.

Isn't it supposed to be possible to knock someone out?

There is a random chance that anyone hit with a weapon will be knocked down, this is based on your agility as well as agility of the person you are fighting, I am not sure if you can do the same with h2h, though if you get their fatigue down to 0 they get knocked out.

i think it took me 2 minutes to kill foryn gilnith with HTH but i was only a level or two up at the time, i dont think it took you 30 minutes to kill him but if it did... better late then never.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

It did take me 30 minutes... I was level one, fresh out of prison, nothing done yet. And Hand-to-hand wasn't a major or minor skill. It started at five...

:p

heh yeah mine was a major skill, I knew it was hard enough to kill something with HTH and I wouldn’t hit a thing if it was only at 5 or 15 points. Come to think of it I was level one too.

Hand to Hand is great.
My Khajit monk can fight anything.

I'm level 18, now, but have had 100 h2h since about 4th level. The only problem is that one can come to rely tooo much on it. My short blade skills are low. Also my magic levels are all pretty low because I don't need to do anything in a fight, but knock the opponent down and then scrape away at him until he yells "Stoopid"

The only monster I haven't been able to defeat so far with H2H is an Orgim.
