Atronach

Post by Fer'or »

I've just started my first mage (believe it or not, it is!) as a Breton with the atronach sign. So far so good, I went hunting mudcrabs to show my powers of mass destruction to the townsfolk of Seyda Neen. Until my magicka-bar was empty. Sleeping had no use, and I didn't have any restore magicka potions on me.
My sword skills were so pathetic (15, IIRC) so nothing much to rely on.
Suddenly I got a bright idea! Why didn't I think of it earlier on. I can summon a ghost and attack it. It'll defend itself and hit me with some magic. So I selected the spell and casted it. But I got the "You don't have enough magicka" message. Damn, stupid me!

So, how on earth can I recover my magicka with the atronach sign earlier in the game?

As I've said, I didn't have any potions early on in the game. :(

join the mages guild, thats not hard to do early on really. other than that, around seyda neen i dont know what you could do. buying some probably wouldnt be a better option than taking the silt strider to balmora and joining the mages guild to get their supplies

Don't forget,
when you join the mage's guild in Balmora you can also raid the chests in all the other mage guilds as well! :p
And, in the early part of the game, they restock quite frequently

Hey, you even don't need to join them. Just stand behind the chest on the stairs, but so that nobody can see you, sneak and get everything what's insidet the chest....

And maybe you'd be interested in a mod which makes the magicka regenerate just like health does? HERE you can find it. And check out the other mods, too. The site's hosted by TheLys, as far as I know. Check out that site, too, if you're interested in other great mods.

I was planning on joining the mages guild anyway.
And the mod; I find it cheating. But thanks anyway.

Hum, dunno. Cheating? Where's the logic in having regenerating health, but no regenerating magicka? ;)

atronach sign gives you hugely increased magicka, like 2.0 x intelligence
as well as a bit of spell absorbation
but it stunts your magicka, which means you dont restore it by resting and such
you have to use potions or absorb it
its the trade off for getting the extra magicka
