General questions on making stuff

Post by Julian »

I have searched the forum and i just need a few mor answers.

1. The manual is a litte confusing to me, am i right when i say i have to be lvl 5 to take the craft weapon feat?

2.Which spell do i need to make a weapon flaming?

3.Which item in the wondrous section is the best deal fo a low lvl party?

In short is there a list/manual on the net conserning this?

btw i have the co8 patch installed, i dont know if it changes any creation parts.

Hey, dude,

1. Yes
2. fireball for mages, flame strike for clerics; flame blade'll work, too
3. Well, that's a matter of opinion, but you may either want items that make up for areas of deficit (e.g., make gloves of dexterity if you have low dex scores) or capitalize on areas of strength (e.g, make gauntlets of ogre power for your tank fighters) - of course, you'll be limited by what level is required for the item, how much xp you're willing to use up for crafting early on (e.g., personally, I never craft till after 10th level), and what spells you've got (spells determine what you can make in a lot of cases (e.g., can't make cloak of resistance without the spell, "resistance").
4. The 3.5 and 3E DMG items section names the requirements for creating items; when you bring up the crafting wondrous menu on your radial menu, each item tells you what is required to craft it, and you may also find this thread usefeul:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... adid=29002
5. The Co8 patch makes all masterwork items available through the smith in Hommlet (MW items are necessary for crafting magical arms and armor) and allows the creation of ioun stones in the wondrous item department.

Thanks Greywulf, hadnt thought of looking in my DMG(easter holiday makes the mind slow), infact its really strange i didnt think of it because i replied to someone earlier with "just look in your DMG"

In the game it doesnt say what the Ioun stones do, but i guess the DMG is correct if they were added by the co8 patch.

btw i have the 3ed DMG not the 3.5, if there are any changes on this subject there please tell me(the game was made wit 3.5 right??)

Gauntlets of Ogre Power/Gauntlets of Strength

I highly recommend crafting Gauntlets of Ogre power or Gloves of Strength for your fighters. They are also helpful on non-combat characters who might be overburdened. For archers, the gloves of dex are the better option. Another item to consider making
is the +3 Cloak of Resistance for almost everyone.

Unfortunately, the game appears to be bugged with regards to items that grant Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma as far as improving the number of bonus spells is concerned. If that bug is ever fixed, then crafting those for your spellcasters is a nobrainer.

No sweat.

The ioun stones are as per the DMG - there's a thread on them:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showt ... adid=30414

The game is based on the 3.5E, but the 3E is pretty darn close, so most information contained therein will still hold true.
