Carsomyr is a weapon restricted to Paladins. The only way around this is a thief with Use Any Item high-level ability.

Some provide more a challenge, which IMO is a good thing in a game this easy. Other groups are self-recommending. But...

You can't? Maybe not if you not have keldorn in the party, he's good but he's just so over-righteous that it makes me sick. Viconia and keldorn will leave the party to fight, because keldorn goes completely berserk when viconia makes almost friendly remarks about his believes. Anomen and Keldorn will also fight if anomen is not knighted. Hmm, and same thing goes for edwin and minsc, and korgan and aerie.

Aerie just leaves if you don't kick Korgan out of the party, they won't fight each other. Also, Viconia and Valygar will fight if you speak to a certain person in the government district ;)

I didn't find that occured as long as you kept your rep within the "average" area. Once you moved into the complaint zone at either side of the ethical spectrum, private quarrels and worse erupted.

1/ What would you suggest then as for weapons for a Kensai/Mage? Katanas maybe? Dak'kon's Zerth Blade isn't looking half bad. Or if not, what then? I'm open to suggestions.

2/ What's that about aquiring a +3 weapon very easily?

3/ There is no 3

1)

katanas - very in-character with the kensai class, some very poerfull versions. if you go into ToB, you'll need another weapon, as Celestal Fury looses it's effectieveness (but it's still worth for the first 2/3 of the game)

two-handed swords - a lot of good weapons in this category, from the beginning to the end

staves - the Staff of the Magi in a hands of a kensai/mage is a fiersome weapon! add to it the Staff of the Ram for some kicking!

nut then, just about any uther weapon has it's uber-version. just take what you like. other good choices are: longsword, bastard sword, axe, halberd, spear, flail, warhammer... you get the picture!

2) highlight for spoiler: under the Copper Cornet in the Slums, you can enter a sewers area. there you do a quest to recieve Lilacor +3, intelligent (that means making voiced remarks that can be hilarios to some and irritating to others) two-handed sword, that gives you protection from Charm and Confusion when equipped end spoiler

One thing: if it's true there're only about 10 minutes gaming time between Yoshimo's betrayal and Imoen's retrieval, couldn't I simply leave Jan out of the party? This would make for a party consisting of my main character, Minsc, Jaheira, Yoshimo, and Viconia. This will leave me a bit struggling for magery, however. My kensai will probably dual to mage at lvl 9 then... Or should I wait until lvl 13 for the extra thac0 point, proficiency slot, and 1/2 attack (that's the difference I think it made)?

It all depends on what you want out of your character, how patient you are, and if ToB is installed.

A kensai dualled at level 9 (or level 7 -- right off the bat) will still be pretty good in a fight, and will be an awesome mage. A Kensai dualled at level 13 will eventually be the most powerful Kensai. Remember, your Kensai levels will be dormant after switching classes until your new class level (in this case Mage) passes the level you stopped in your old class.

This means that you'll basically be a single classed Mage until you hit level 14 in the optimal situation. I say optimal assuming you have ToB installed. If you only have SoA, dual at 7 or 9.
