Fighter/Thief party

Post by Malta Soron »

I'm planning to compile a party of only good and neutral Fighters and Thiefs. Am I wasting my time?

To be honest, no. But it's hard to have a full thief party because there are only 2 decent thieves in BG; Imoen and Safana. You can play with 3 thief party or you could make full custom party.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Use Multiplayer mode

Make your own party in MP mode. Leave a slot or two for NPCs that meet your criteria. The GameBanshee BG1 home page has all the NPC stats so you can evaluate them and see who you want to eventually pick up. Fill out the remainder yourself.

Multiple thieves.
Think of the backstabs.
Nice idea. Although i never leave home without a good mage.
(Mage your PC can be a mage/thief)
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

IIRC you can dual Sharteel to a thief.

I worded it wrong. I mean: a party from only (almost) non-magical characters. That also includes Paladins and Rangers.
I now have a party of myself (Fighter), Imoen and Ajantis and I'm doing pretty well (slaying the big guy with the piercing girdle on the road to the Friendly Arm without taking a scratch).

Yup yup I found it rather fun to play with a hack n slash party. Had my figher, Kivan, Coran, Ajantis, Minsc and Khalid :) Kicked some serious ass.

It's possible to play with a no-magic party in BG1. You can do it in SoA as well, but that's a bit harder, I think.

I read an NPC Guide and have thought of the following party:

- Me (Fighter)
- Ajantis
- Minsc
- Kivan
- Imoen
- Safana

That party would pretty much hack 'n slash through anything. As a matter of fact, you could easily drop two or even three of 'em - you'd level up lots faster.

No, I like to have a big party; it's more fun (and more arrows at a time flying to the enemy).
