New Types of Races

Post by RebelousDarkElf »

If you were to make a new type of race what would it look like, what bonuses, powers, and such be like?

I would make mine sort of like alamexia with the glowing skin. She or he would have bonuses in all magic abilities and a bonus on long blade. The would have a bonus on enchant of 20 because of the sword that she has, she probably enchanted it herself (I mean she is a god, why hire someone to do it). She would have a bonus in inteligence and personality. Personality because everybody loves her. Mabey a bonus in speechcraft. Well now that I think about it with all these bonuses she might as well be a god. You would start with a 55 in enchant and 45 in other magical skills at best.

Well, that's my idea, tell my yours.

An Ape class with an own Island with a whole village up in the trees. Their strength, agility, speed and endurance could reach a maximum of 150 ( maybe even more...)but their intelligence and personality only 60. Also they wouldn't be able to use any magic and many skills, like security and heavy armor. They couldn't wear rings and gloves because of their thick fingers, but they'd get a bonus on their hand-to-hand skill (about 60 or so), blunt weapons, long swords, spears, sneak, unarmored and marksman (though they wouldn't be able to use bows and crossbows, only throwing weapons). They could go berserk, would have a bonus about 10 on attack and could force doors and chests open.

I would make like an undead character (WarCraft 3? The Undead....Like the Lich Hero)and these would be the bonuses:

Conjuration 15
Destruction 10
Alteration 10
Blunt Weapon 5
Illusion 5

!REMEMBER! The skills points have to add up to 45 like all the other races....

...and magicka = 10.0 x INT

They would have a increase in Intelligence and Willpower, but their Personality would start at 10 because everyone is afraid of this race, they run away when they see them, but creatures just attack, but their disposition with other people in this race would always at least be 60. And their Speed would start at 30 because they don't actually have legs or feet. And since people run away, this race has its own city underground which can be accesed by a trap door at these places:

Meldor, Armorer, Balmora
Halfway Tavern, Pelagiad
End of the world, Dagon Fel
Dirty Muriels Cornerclub, Sadrith Mora
Under Skaar, Ald'ruhn
The little prison, Arvs-Drelen, Gnisis
Underworks, Foreign Quarter

And their "Underworld" would also have 3 Great Houses, But only 12 main cities, 4 for each house. The houses would be called:

Great House Madoch (warriors)
Great House Marlo (theives)
Great House Mentrith (mages)

But the houses wouldn't be rivals, they would stick together, but they are just there so everyone can feel in their place, also everyone in their houses would like them with a disposition of 100, all the time.

The missions would concern destroying the world above, but you wouldn't literally destroy it, you would just trick each house into getting really mad with each other and causeing war with each other, and the mages guild would fight Telvanni, and Morag Tong would fight the Dark Brotherhood....like re-awaken their hates for each other.

But incase you did want to go up there into the other cities, when you first visit the Underworld, you will have a home givin to you in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in the Red Mountain Region, where there would be a ring, which you could use to make you look like a living person, you choose the race, but remember, dont wear it into the Underworld because the Undead race will attack anyone not of their race, and when in living state, you wouldn't be allowed to wear enchanted pants, skirts or shoes, and you not allowed to wear greaves or boots....because if you do, you be unable to move, like you were paralyzed.

But with the ring you could still do the Main quest and all the other guilds, but you will always a home in the Underworld.
But in the main quest I would make it possible to join Dagoth ur, and you two would literally raise hell on earth, and all the other cities would send armies to stop you but you easily kill them, and when your in you real state, peasents would run away from you, whereas stronger people would attack e.g guards....

Also remember that there are dungeons in the Underworld where you should go to get treasures.... and one more thing, there would be a main quest which would be to bring the Undead together, and start their rivalry again with the Hugh Grants,..uh, I mean Imperials, and you would enslave them etc.

So lets go over this again...

-Nice Skill Bonuses.
-HUGE Magika Boost.
-Low PER and SPD, but high INT and WIL.
-Can't wear shoes, boots, greaves, pants or skirts because you are like floating.
-Ring to make you look like a living person.
-Another ring which you get during the "Main Quest 2" which has a spell to posses someone for 600 secs.
-A house in red mountain.
-Nice huge Underworld, Undead Capital.
-3 new Houses that are NOT rivals.
-A cool 'Lich' like character, just that you dont have legs but you have this permanent skirt thing... but you hve to mix good with the bad...
-LOADS of new quests.
-Different types of architecture for each house's cities.
-Annoying thing of not wearing leg stuff, but again, mix the good with the bad....

Was this a good enough idea?

Critisim is welcome.... ;) :p :)

Great ideas, Lifeishell... just one (minor) comment: to make it more interesting, I wouldn't unite the Houses. Why wouldn't they struggle? They'll have conquered Vvardenvell soon, but to the strongest House will go the highest spoils! :)

However, your race made me think about the exact opposite: an airborn race, from a City in the Clouds... the Airbornians.
Levitate wouldn't be a spell but a skill, one that you have to train like any other.
Since they don't spend much time walking they suffer a penalty in Athletics.
They get a bonus in Hand-to-hand, make that Claw-to-hand and their Agility is good. They're also adept at using polearms (halberd, staff, spear).
They're also quite proud of their flying abilities, so they get a penalty in Speechcraft, because they're so damn arrogant about it in contact with other, earthbound races (every time you use the word "mudworm", your disposition goes down).
Contact with mages have always been difficult at best. Not so long ago, the Mage guild or House Telvanni tried to invade the Airbornian city and almost succeeded in conquering it. For the Airbornians, who always thought their City was inconquerable, that was a traumatic experience. They've been training to fight magic users ever since, in case those pesky Mages will try again... so they have a high Magicka resistance... bonus in Willpower. They can only use Airbornian spells and scrolls though, meaning their magic wielding abilities are both unique (using unique Airbornian spells) and limited.
Oh, and they're also too damn arrogant to learn sneak.
They excel in Unarmored and Light Armor.
Penalty in Strength... they can't carry a lot and still fly.

Very impressive
And once my "Hell-raiseing" race destroy Vvardenfall, they could start rebuilding it the way they wanted it eons ago...bafore they lost it to the Hugh Grant wannabe's.... :D !!! And maybe the Airbornians and Hell-raisers could like work together to keep the "lesser races" away from thier new found immortally power country ;) !!! But remember, dont try to trick us or we'll paralyze you in mid-air and you'll know what will happen...... :p ;) :D

Keep in mind, I can't make a mod for this race because I play on XBOX... :(

I have XBox too :(

So my race is now a pothetic little insignificant speckle compared to your races, sounds about right. Well now my race has fleed and took over a new city. It is Mornhold. And now in Mornhold I have an army of fabricants as posts. Levitation is not allowed Airbornians, so now I only have to deal with one race, the hell-raisers. I have another army of Her Hand's running around and I have found Never and gave him Truflame. Good luck getting through that. :p If thr Hell-Raisers want to surrender I will give you all of Old Mornhold an you underworld. You can also keep part of Vvarvendale. Airbornians, you can have a part of Seyda Neen. Tell me your plan to counter that :D

Treaty

I offer you a treaty. Both of you.

Oh yea if anyone wants to tell us a new race just type to me. But if this treaty comes through we will just kick your asses. I mean can you even try to beat a god type race, Hell-Raisers, and an airborne race. That's what I thought. :D

Well, the Airbornians (I have to come up with a cool name) are magicka resistant so you still don't want them knocking on your door.
But I don't think it would come to a fight between our races. Like you said, you can't fly in Mournhold so the Airbornians wouldn't be interested in going there anyway, arrogant bastards that they are... :) They'd rather stick to their City in the Clouds, even though it's covered in cliff racer crap...

I'll counter that by making a command humanoid and creature spell that goeas all over Vvardenfall and send them all to Mournhold and since there are over 3K NPC's, I will definitaly crush you!!! :D :D :D

Then I will control Mournhold as well!!

Plus, if you don't surrender, but retreat to your cloud city, I will again send a command creature spell all over vvardenfall to make all cliff racers come and say:"Why, hello...we are here to kill you....DIE!".

Try and counter THAT ;) !!!

The above was just incase you wanted the war of 'Good and Evil' to continue, but what did you think of my idea that the races (Hell-rasiers and Airbornians) keeping Vvardenfall to themselves, and keeping all the "lesser reaces" away? We could suround the coast with a huge 'Ghost-Gate'-like wall  ;) !!!

Well I'm safe from 1 race

Now that I only have one race to focus on, or to get my ass kicked by, :( I will retreat to Sotha Sil with the mazed band and start praying, to myself. Boy lets just make a treaty, because I'm just screwed. Discuss your terms :(

I think your god is perfect. Ya don't want all the abilities to start at 100, because you need some room to actually play the game a little. Other then that I'd change her glow to be a red color.

As for my race. It would be a race of humans that are close to their physical abilities and also strong in the mysticism arts. Resistant against poison, but not disease. All people are supposed to have green or blue eyes. Although some of the unpure breds might have different color. +5 atheletics, +5 acrobatics, +15 mysticism, +10 hand-to-hand, +5 unarmored +5 sneak.(all the real Morrowind races only have +45 to abilities) Race's Special Attribute: Resist Poison 50%. Race's Special Power: Mystic Field(Resist Fire, Ice, & Bolt 50% for 60 seconds)

I might edit some things on it, this is just off the top of my head.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

Hey, they made a dog guy on Dark Angel, so... The Hound Folk would have high endurance and special abilities. Like 'Aport', when an Imperial throws a stick, they return it for xp. And 'Waggle Tail' for a mercantile bonus. ;)
