Dumb question!

Im raising through the ranks of the thieves guild, and am wondering what a "stronghold" is, and as can i get one in the thieves guild?? what are strongholds for???

You can only get them through the Dunmer Great Houses (Telvanni, Hlaalu and Redoran).
You use them to basically live in them.

or, more importantly for a packrat like myself, to hoard all of those dadric weapons and goodies that no one will be able to buy till i pack them over to mournhold.
