Just wondering. I've read that it's possible to make more than one character (allowing me, for instance, to create a sorcerer and a monk in my party) and still fill the other slots with NPCs.
How do you do this? Is it buggy?
How do I create my own party (2 characters of my own)?

A life is not important, except in the impact it has on other lives.

Its very simple and its not the least bit buggy. Start a new game in Multiplayer mode. Create your two custom chars. Only one can be the main char, however. Start the game. Now you can pick up NPCs for the other slots. If you don't want to contend with the MP interface you can go into your game files and copy the saved game from the MPSAVE folder over to the SAVE folder. Now start the game from single player mode and open the saved game you just transfered. It should run fine.
If you want your second char to have the initial Bhaalspawn powers as well you can start the second character as a main char in a new game and immediately export him/her. Now when you create your two custom char party just make a new main char and import the second char from the saved character files. Unlike the main char who loses his Bhaalspawn powers when he gets the slayer power the second char will hold onto those powers for the entire game.
For some reason it seems that chars made in BG1 can achieve higher starting stats than those created from BG2. I will often created my char in BG1, start the game and save it. Then I transfer that saved game file over to the BG2 SAVE folder. Now when you start a game of BG2 you can import that character and rearrange the kits and weapons proficiency points. I just made an awesome druid this way because I could not roll decent points from the BG2 character creation screen. Something else to consider is that if you play a game of BG1 to the end and transfer that character to BG2 it is possible that that char picked up all the tomes of learning which would add 1 level point to every attribute and potentially 3 level points to Wisdom (with the ToTSC expansion). With that in mind I often start the char in BG1 and then use GateKeeper to add the extra attribute points for the tomes and also add the golden pantaloons to the chars inventory. GateKeeper will overwrite the save game file. Now just transfer that save game file over to BG2. This makes for a very high level main char but one that also one that would have been a logical possibility. After all, the Bhaalspawn powers are achieved throughout BG1 and show up when you created a new char in BG2 so you could argue that you deserve the tome bonuses as well?
EDIT: @Gnomesweat: Sorry to have repeated your advice but you posted while I was still typing my windy response and didn't see your posts.
