Why doesnt Drizzt Do'Urden appear in this game

Post by BurntX »

If you are a fan of all thigns to do Faerun than you will know about the infamous Drizzt. Him along with so many fictional charechters rocked my young world.I was a fan of all rpg games for as far as i can remember. When i first took a hold on baldurs gate shadows of amn i was shocked to find Drizzt Do'Urden as npc.Why havent they put him in any of the Neverwinternights.Although this is a dissapointment they did include Obloud ManyArrows the orc tyrant from RA Salvatores The Hunters Blades Trilogy.

Why should he? Personally I sick of Drizzit and his companions, the only reason I read many of the books were because of other characters like Jarlaxle and Entreri.

Like Cadderly maybe  I don't see the need the to rely on these established heroes. They should be establishing heroes of their own...

If you have played shadows of undrentide, then can you remember the hermit that lives in the forest where the gnoll caves are? If you choose the dialog right he tells you that Regis(everyone knows who rumblebelly is) came through those woods a few years earlier. And that is the only time in nwn that i heard of a forgotten realms charachter out of a book(except Obould)

LOL, well then there you go, they DO mention Drizz't, or at least one of his party, albeit in passing, your angst can now be appeased by the very fact that some of Drizz't and his gang are in NWN.
Personally I really didn't care much about Drizz't being in RPGs, the point of the game is for you to make a name for yourself and have an adventure and all that. Most time I met him in BG I killed him for exp, have to say his weapons weren't THATgreat by BG2, couldn't they make Icingdeath do FROST dmg???!! or at least make it fire resistant!

You meet Eliath(The Gem guy) in Chapter Two, remember? He's a Forgotten Realms character I belivie?

Back to topic: I think that it was pretty cool to have Drizzt and Cadderly in Baldur's Gate. But in Baldur's Gate II, Drizzt and his buddies intervene with the storyline in a matter that I personally don't like. But hey! It's only a matter of not wanting him along, isn't it?
