I'm starting to get boerd with my character. Does anyone have any good ideas for a new character. If so please tell me the major, minor skills, race, class (if not custom), sign, and how to get him good.

A dark wizard/necromancer, its a custom class

Start as a Breton, and take the antronch sign. Specialise in Heavy armour, Long blade, Conjuration, Destruction and Mysticsm.
For minor skills take Alchemy, Block, Alteration, Illusion and Another amour skill.

You'll quickly learn some powerful destrution spells, and be able to summon creatures to do your bidding, when that fails you're protected by heavy armour and have a long sword to clout your enemies with.

Take Magic as your specaility, and have intelligence and endurance as your two favoured attributes.

When you start in Seyda don't take the stilt strider to Balmora as suggested, but go to Vivec and raid the Arena for weapons, keep the best long blade, sell the others, use the money to buy a spell or three. Join the Mages Guild, take those potions (you'll need them to regenerate Magika). Teleport to Balmora and report to Cauis, he'll give you 200 gold like he always does.

Do quests for the fighters and Mages guilds, rise in the ranks, join Telvanni, you'll soon accumulate armour from one place or another.

When you visit Tel Fyr (one of the very eairliest Telvanni quests) plunder his dungon, (first take the key from the table beside him) as you open the different chests you'll eventually get a key that opens something right next to him. {side note} one of the chests is acutally outside the corprasarium, and caused me to lose about 15 minutes looking for it inside.

Equip the amulet, teleport there, kill the Dreamora Lord and you have the coolest weapon in the game, and its a longsword. Good for you. :)

Just a suggestion

Characters...

Name : Shav' Nah
Race: Argonian
Sex: Female
Class: Night Stalker
Major: Marksman, Light Armour, Short Blade, Destruction, Athletics.
Minor: Unarmoured, Mysticim, Secuirity, Sneak, Block.
Sign: Lady
Specialization: Stealth, Willpower + Speed
Join: Theives Guild, Hlaalu, Morag Tong.

This character is mostly theif with a little bit of magic backup. The Athletics and Speed are used because you can't wear Boots of Blinding Speed.

The Light armour is a nice theif armour and the Unarmoured is used in case you dont want to wear a helmet and to protect you feets since you can't wear boots.

Name: Vanessa Uvirith
Race: Altmer
Sex: Female
Class: Shadow Witch
Major: Conjuration, Destruction, Unarmoured, Blunt Weapon, Alteration.
Minor: Mysticim, Alchemy, Illusion, Restoration, Enchant.
Sign: Artronach
Specialization: Magic, Willpower + Intelligence
Join: Telvanni, Mages Guild, Temple.

This is a all round Magic user, the Intelligence, Race Bonus and Birth Sign all kick in to give you a starting of 270 Magika.

I put the skills that have hard spells to do in Major, and the rest in Minor. I chose Blunt Weapon because isn't it so Mage-Like, that is if you stick to staves and not go for the ugly war-hammers!

Name: Dorisa Assurmithamumum
Race: Dunmer
Sex: Female
Class: Monk
Major: Short Blade, Unarmoured, Destruction, Restoration, Athletics.
Minor: Hand-to-Hand, Acrobatics, Mechantile, Speechcraft, Light Armour.
Sign: Lady
Specialization: Stealth, Personality + Intelligence
Join: Temple, Imperial Cult, Mages Guild.

This is a goody-two-shoes type nature lover. Use her to rid the world of evil. She is nice if you like to travel or just stay in town. But she no wussy, she can really kick butt if she has to. She also seems like she sould become a wise woman!

Hope this gives Ideas! :D :D :D :D
PS. The Classes are all Custom.

I'm stuck at like key 1262 or something. Can you tell me if it is in the corpusarium bowels or somewhere else?

Just pick the locks, its faster and you get credit towards your 'security' skill.

Your post inspired me to make a new char as I too was bored. So I chose a dark elf and named him Biffle Chump (after a very famous drow character from Baldurs Gate II). Answered the questions and ended up as a healer. Now that, I thought, should be interesting. Pretty much lousy major/minor skills and no possibility of role playing. I mean, how many people can you really heal in this game (I think the answer is two). Anyway I chose Atronach as my sign as I love the bonus (it doesn't become outdated like most other signs) and absorbing magicka is a neat way to recharge your batteries, so to speak. Concentrated on hand to hand combat and was quickly killing dark brotherhood assassins for their armor and weapons. This char verified what I've long thought - it doesn't matter what you pick for a character, a class, a sign or anything else - if you know your way around the game its all the same. After 3 days of playing my char's level is 50 something.

I enchanted an amulet that opens any lock including those of 100 :p Since my character is a fighter/magic user and not a thief this made total sense from a roleplaying perspective :D

Works like a charm, all you need to do is: buy an unlock spell, trap a relatively strong soul into an appropriately sized soul gem and then either do it yourself if your enchant skill is high enough (save first!!!) or take it to an enchanter (they never fail).

Alternatively, you could have a trainer increase your security skill so you have more chance of opening locks, which makes practicing easier ;)

I found the amulet but I have steel armor, so the Dremora Lord killed me in like 10 seconds. I don't need any more help though. So thanks for all the ideas and help.

Sorry I took so long to reply. I'm glad your enjoying the character, when you're done you might want to look at a thief type character. They are a lot of fun, and in my opinion marksmans weapons are better than anything else in the game by a HUGE margin, just because they are so much more fun. I love using Auriel's bow, and and Silver arrows.... unstoppable.

I've often thought about a Master-at-Arms. Its a kind of macho uber-hero. Redguard, Strength and Endurance favoured attributes, The Lady, Specialisation Combat. Take Long Blade, Axe, Spear, Block, and Heavy Armour as major, Light Armour, Medium Armour, Blunt Weapon, Short Blade and Athletics as Minor. Level up fast due to Athletics and you can use any armour or weapon you come across. Has anyone ever tried this?

If so is it any good?
