Tough Weapon

Post by Avannis »

I noticed a list of really cool weapons here on the site, but I can't seem to find a list of where they are located! I have a Druid/Rogue character that I am having a lot of fun with, but she would look SO much cooler holding the Staff of Ascension, ya know, the Grand Druid thingy? Does anyone know where I would go to look for it and in what chapter? Plus, are there any weapons you can't use to sneak attack with (i.e. magic staves/sickles)?

The reason there is no list of where to find stuff is because items show up randomly. Your level decides what items show up in chest and on monsters.

Some weapons have fixed locations - others don't.

Named weapons, I belive, usually have fixed locations.

EDIT:
I've never played druid, so this is a wild guess - but could it be connected to the druid encaptment in chapter 2, and given as a reward for either finishing the circel challenges or something else?

From my experience so far with this game, I would have to go with Xandax on this one: most unique named weapons are fixed, the random ones are the "gifts" from the game matrix to help one's specific character. Although I am still on the hunt for the cool staff, I am settling on a golden sickle for now, since it is authentic and useful in its own right. Thanx for the advice, I am now on a dogged persuit toward the druid circle in level 2 and the staff (hopefully) won therein. PS, as a side note, I was a Baldur's Gate FANATIC, but my cousin, who turned my on to BG in the first place, bought me NWN for my birthday and I have been playing it non-stop. An absolutely genius game.

I seem to recall finding that staff (and selling it off since I was a paladin/rogue at the time). I don't think I found it that early in the game. You may have a better bet in the next chapter, however.
