I am having some real trouble with that elemental before I get to the last area - I've tried everything and can barely injure him... and that earthquake business drives me CRAZY. How do I wear him down?

I just Had my fighters run in and whip his rear, But he does use stoneskin so you may want to have your mage ready with a breach or two. Minsc(crom fayr, axe of unyielding) Keldorn(carsomyr)My character fighter/mage dual(foebane). Imoen two breachs elemental went down fast.

Take out the two greater elementals before going against Mr. Big.

Breach, some monster summoning to distract him and then hit hard. Improved haste or boots of speed. Oh, and let him come to you instead of you coming to him.

I opened the door and stood back and waited for mr. big to run out and attack one of my fighters while the other shut the door behind him. so I could kill the big guy without bothering with the other two until he was dead.

I got lucky with the Githyanky sword. One hit from the vorpal blade decapitated the thing and ended the battle before it even started.

I opened the door and unloaded all summoning spells, then, when both Greater EElementals were dead I jumped in, to find "Mr Big" dead, Vorpal Hit by a planetar...

I had Jaheira cast a greater elemental summoning and got the prince of air (Chan, I think), whose globe of blades chewed up the greater earth elementals, while Keldorn went after Mr. Big with the Ravager +6 (10% chance of decapitation, no save)
