If you have Windows 9x (95,98 or ME), then click on Start, click on Run, type "winipcfg" (without the brackets) in the Run box and then click OK. From the box that pops up, you *might* need to change the adapter from the drop down box at the top to see your Internet IP (if you are seeing something like 192.168.x.x or 10.10.x.x, that's not your Internet IP so change the adapter from the drop down box). If you have a dial-up connection (if you are using a modem with a phone line), you will want to select the "PPP adapter" from the drop down box.
If you have Windows NT, 2000 or XP, do the same first two steps above except type "cmd" in the Run box instead of "winipcfg" and then press OK. A DOS box will pop up when you do this. Type "ipconfig" in this DOS box and press enter. That's it.
EDIT: Oh, you will obviously need to be connected to the Internet before you do the above to be able to see your Internet IP.
