Soloing w/Assassin

Post by Daydrius »

I've decided to do a solo game w/an assassin(my favorite class) does anyone have any tips for me, I am at level 14(only 5,000 more exp to level 15). I have 1 proficiency slot in scimitars/wakizashis/ninja-tos, one in katanas, on in cross-bows, one in short-bows, and one in one-handed weapons. I currently have Belm +2 in my main hand, and the lighht crossbow of speed in my quick weapons slot. I am wearing the cloak of non-detection, and the armor you get from Mae'Var. I'm stuck on what quests to do next, and at what level I should go to Brynnlaw

Sounds like you have a fine character, nothing to really worry about since you level very fast and can take your enemy by surprise.

I would advise you to steal/obtain all the potions of invisibility you can and use them. A star in daggers would be nice too, and if I were you, I'd get the Tuigan bow ~~ very fast. As a thief, you can't stand around and just shoot at your enemy for a long time ~ backstab, run, turn around, shoot, continue running. Thus you need the fastest missile weapon available.

It would be hard, but I'd also try and get the Ring of Gaxx early on ~~ gives you very nice AC/saving throw bonuses plus you get to cast improved haste 3 times and invisibility 1 time !! Plus you'll regenerate, so with a non-detection cloak, when injured you can gulp an invisibility potion, go hide under some stairs and a couple of minutes later you'll be completely healed!

That's a very nice class to solo btw :)

Finish everything that you can before going to brynlaw since you know that you

SPOILER

wont be coming back for a bit

other than that, get yourself a ring of invisibility or 2, boots of speed to run away really really fast
Get the celestial fury.... the +3 katana with xtra lightning dmg, chance to STUN, etc. anyway, the reason you want belm is for that xtra attack, so I recommend putting it in the off-hand and using celestial fury in mainhand, if you can backstab and stun a guy at the same time, they're as good as dead already
Tact is for people not witty enough to be sarcastic

thank you very much for your help, both of you. This is my first time soloing at all, so I'll see how it goes, assassin is a fun class(and when I get bored, I can just backstab an amnish soldier to peices and reload), and I wanted to prove to my friend that you can indeed solo through the game with this class(although there will be some difficult parts).

How do you start off with all that neat stuff?

Also I guess by having played the game, you know where to get that other neat stuff.

Cheers.....

I now have the Tuigan bow, and a lot of fire arrows, and am doing Nalia's quest. my backstab multiplyer is now up to x6, and I am starting to kill even tanks in one good backstab.
