Happy (Belated) 30th Anniversary, Dungeons & Dragons!
Yes, this did happen recently, according to this article.
Note to moderators: Feel free to move this where you wish. I was just hoping to get this heard.

Dungeon Crawl Inc.: It's the most fun you can have without 3 midgets and a whip! Character stats made by your's truly!
When I was between the ages of 10 and 16 - I spent my summers doing two things: Playing sports and playing D&D. Neighboorhood games of wiffleball, football, wiffle hockey, basketball, etc. would fill up my sunny afternoons. The rainy days were reserved for D&D. What a great social game. A spark for the imagination and a great teacher of storytelling, history, and even vocabulary.
Heck - 95% of us are on this site because of Baldurs Gate II. D&D has changed greatly over the past 30 years. Getting a group of friends together for a pen and paper session is next to impossible for me. But I still play a good deal of single player CRPGs and get my pen and paper fix playing NWNs on Argyle Online.
Happy Birthday D&D! Where would I be without you? I'd probably have a much less interesting life - maybe I would collect stamps or dried insects or something....I shutter to think...![Big Grin :D](./images/smilies/)

Isn't he just "CO-CREATOR?" I remember that the article mentions that he devised D&D with the help of someone else.

Gary Gygax co-created D&D...but AD&D (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons) was truly his greatest work, and his own. I played the PnP ages ago. Never lost interest in it, just time and opportunities.
It's changed a great deal...but it's still D&D. I like the changes.
