Ive heard rumors on the forums of the elderscrolls website that there is skeloton key that will open all locks no matter what in the game and that people have actually gotten them. Is this in the game, a mod, a some idiots blabbering.

Yeah I think you get that after you become the Head of the thieves guild... speaking of head of a guild, I killed Trebonius for the title of Arch-Mage, but the faction members still call me Master Wizard.. Is the title for my journal only?

oops, i obliterated the thieves guild. like 2 years ago. I hope theres still a way to get it.

Speak with one of the guild stewards about advancement and they will officially make you arch-mage.

I tried that.. They told me "Advancement doesnt occur by magic" blah blah blah..

I'm in the same boat right now... I'm supposedly arch-mage, but it says i'm only master wizard. Maybe we need to finish even more quests? I know I still haven't finsihed all of skink's missions...

They wont let me advance in the mages guild, is that because my skills in magic are too low? They say I dont have the requirement, but they wont tell what excactly the requirement are.

You have to have the skills of a Arch-mage in order to be called one. this means 1 skill at 90 and 2 at 35 or 40

If you bring up your stats menu, and look right near the bottom underneath your skills, you'll find a listing of all the organisations you have joined. If you run your curser over them a window will pop up showing your rank and exactly what you need in order to advance.

The skeleton key is just some stupid lockpick with 50 uses. It made me so angry when I got it, bceause I thought I wasn't going to have to carry around all those dumb lockpicks anymore, and just one key, but NO! It's dumb and angering. I haven't tried using it yet, but it probably unlocks any level. I'm not sure.
