automatic login out

Post by Rob-hin »

My account log out every now and again, mostly after a couple of weeks.

I log in but when I visit the site again after a few weeks I'm somehow logged off. I log in again and this happends all over again. I don't get any error's or anything.

It doesn't bother me much but I was wondering if it was just me or if it happend more.

Likely a cookie issue.

Does this only happen with Gamebanshee?

Had this happen to me also just recently.

I think it is mearly the expiering of cookies, and thus they need to be "refreshed" so to speak.
When using cookies, one can set an expire date on them, so they don't last "forever" (or untill deleted).

But it would be for Buck to give the full answer.

The expiering of cookies it not something you set.

It is an attribute that can be set on a cookie when writing it on the client PC via ASP (and would think PHP is the same, but have never worked in PHP, only ASP).

But if you have it often (which it seems), then there is something else wrong, because I get it maybe once every 2-3-4 months or so - don't really know cause I rarely have cookies laying on my computer for so long :D
