Henchmen and items

Post by Aviator Duck »

I have Grimgnaw as my henchmen now. I picked him up at the beginning of Ch. 2. I have the mummified hand from the graveyard. How do I give it to him? I did not have in Ch. 1 nor did I complete the Ch. 1 items to give to him.

Usually...
You need to talk to the Henchmens, and then the convesation will take a turn where they mention they need an item for their personal quest. Then via the convesation - you will be able to tell them you have it, after which they will get it from you.

But....
If you haven't completed the chapter 1 quests of your henchmen (you can do all of them by just asking them to join, then talking to them, then getting them to leave again over and over :) ), you will not be able to completed the quests in the later chapters.

Actually, you wont "give" the henchmen anything ever in original NWN, it will just disappear from your inventory when you've talked to them enough. After talking with the henchmen, you'll get a multiple choice selection in the conversation, like "give petrified hand to grimgnaw", etc. then when you pick it, it will say in your text box that the hand is gone.
You cant give henchmen any items physically until HotU I think.
I dont have SoU...can you give items to henchmen in SoU??

Quest items is given as in the original NwN, but you can equip your henchmen with armour, weapons etc by using their inventory via convesation options.

Yes, you can give your henchmen items in SoU, though the method is slightly different than in HotU. Just finished the NWN OC and started SoU last night. WooHoo! :D

Another Henchmen question

Since this thread is about henchmen, let me ask the following question. Can you only have one henchmen in your party at one time? The manual does not state this, yet everytime I let a new henchman into the party, the old one gets kicked out.

multiple henchmen

In the NWN OC and in SoU, you can only have one henchman at a time. In HotU, you can have two if one of them is Deekin. You should also try to complete the quests for all the henchmen if possible.

I liked bigger partys like in Baldurs Gate, Wizards of the Coast wanted to go back to their ad&d P&P rules though.
That's whay party size has decreased.
