This is totally agreeable, my little borthers play Halo and I believe it is mauture. I think the people who rate the games are a wee bit to strict. So anyway the game is like too gory or something like that. If you want gory get Resident Evil, not Halo. Halo is a strait out great game, though. Cant wait til Halo 2 comes out. Well anyway Morrowind should be everyone and Halo should be teen.

I think it's rated mature, because it shows a marine with his skull split open. It's a military game and it shows dead human bodies everywhere.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

maybe this post should be posted in the "random stuff" forum or something but no one seems to mind which is great. as i was saying, Morrowind is THE best 1 person game and Halo is the best Multiplayer, although i wish it had 4 player co-op (it would be pretty funny if Morrowind was a multiplayer, but i don't know how that would work out) anyways, you should never buy a game from the rating. Anything except Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog (both these games i find incredibly boring) is rated teen or higher, when i was around 11, i couldn't play a lot of games because my parents went by the ratings. oh well, now i can

but a lot of little kids can handle that. anyway, i don't remember any part with the skull thing but the "bodies" thing is pretty true, but remember: your fighting to kill the things that killed those marines. This thought fuels hatred for the covenant and the flood so you want to kill them, if you die you get even more mad at them and this cycle continues. I actually try my very best NOT to let the marines die because it is just so unbearable, i see your reasoning though.

I think the subject of rating games is a minefield (excuse the pun ).... Much as is the case with movies and literature it is an extremely subjective area ... a great deal depends on the actual maturity level (not always related to age) of the person playing the game, viewing the movie or reading the book...
That being said, I know if I found my 9-year-old son playing a game such as Halo, Grand Theft Auto or any other game like that.. I would hit the roof. I would not even consider consenting to him playing a game of that nature unless he knew something of the context behind such gore and human depravity.... and even after that.. I would be extremely hesitant.
Okay.. my son is only nine.. a few years removed from 'teen'. However, a number of studies show that it is precisely the 7-12 age group that is drawn by games such as Halo. This IMO.. is worrying... I frankly, do not think 'little kids' should play graphically violent games; they do not yet understand the context and from a social development/psychological perspective I very much doubt it is healthy...
Morrowind on the other hand is very cleary fanatasy and when you take somebody out it is not graphic... nor is the game really based on extreme gore...

True, but that is a mod, so you have the choice of not playing it in this way and it is not imposed by the game developersOriginally posted by Monolith
Unless you use the Blood&Gore mod...

They only made Morrowind gore-free because they wanted to sell it in Germany, too - without changing the whole game. They knew that fans would make such a mod, which finally makes the game to what the developers wanted it to be

I'm 25, graduating college in two weeks & going on to bigger & better things...
Hopefully...
BTW, a mod is an add-on for PC. You can pretty much anything, if you have the right mod. I'm an xbox guy, so I wouldn't know where to find them, but ask around & it'll come to you.

well, you better ask him what games he does play because I have a 8 year old cousin and he has been playing Halo longer than me and he isn't messed-up. his friends play all sorts of games like Halo, many -10 kids do. I can agree with you on "Grand Theft Auto" though. Even though I'm 13 and consider myself eligable to like it: I dispise it beyond belief. the whold idea is just stupid.

kids, whatareyagonnado?
thats because we are all desensitised (right word?) i think its cool that my generation and below are all getting used to violence etc, after all we appear to heading into the age of conflict, and if we arent going to get used to it, were all screwed. personally, im ready for anything.
also, we have been brought up with conflict in our nature, maybe i cant play that card anymore because we have evolved so much but...
I can see peoples points about games like GTA though, it might not be the best 'role model' for younger kids, but i can hardly see 8/9 year olds dipatching elites with a melee attack. the kids know games like HALO arent real, thats why they play them. if someone made a game with real footage of people getting blown apart/impaled/shot/beaten, i dontr think many kids would be able to handle it if they knew it was real, but if you told them it was like nexgen CGI, the would be all for it.
but thats my opinion

You can see that from another point of view; maybe we're heading into an age of conflict because we're getting used to violence...

good point. but the pendulum of time is swinging and digitalchimp's vision has soon to come to truth. I have no doubt that it will, after all, we have gone a long way from 100 years ago. not just in technology but in social function. Hollywood is stupid and thinks that all woman should be blonde with blue eyes and look like and anorexic to be considered "pretty", boys wear pants that are so loose that you can see their underwear and girls wear skirts that couldn't cover anything. seriously, when will people learn that society is already crumbling and it is all HOLLYWOOD's fault. I shall hide in an underground haven until the wave of stupidity is over and we can all get back to our decent lives and wardrobes...

We have the same opinion according to that. It is terrible and somehow sick. I've been always trying to convince these girls to wear nothing, but they simply don't listen....

They have those ratings for the stupid mothers who think their kid is as innocent as a scrib..
What a wonderous love it is
To bind two souls in faith,
Chained completely together
With never a false word,
Weal and woe, wish and real,
Woven each together
From first kiss to last breath
First and last whispered in love
