So I just joined the Temple for the first time, & I have to do the pilgrim-thing...
My question is, what do I have to do at the different shrines? At first I just "talked" to the field of kummu shrine, half expecting the message saying "Your journal has been updated" to pop up. It didn't. Should it? Do I have to place the recommended muck in front of it, or is it enough to just touch it once & go on to the next one? Will my journal be updated after I touch the last one?
I really don't want to travel all over vvardenfell, touch every shrine, only to realize that I had to do something else, as well.
Also, where is the shrine in the temple region in vivec? The book says it's on the western wall by the high fane, but I can't find it...
I've read the book cover to cover, but I'm still clueless...
I posted this thread because it would be faster for someone to help me out than for me to run around the whole map & be wrong...
The book says something about facing the shrine and receving a blessing. The only problem is that these shrines don't give blessings (in my experience), they just tell you some story of some hero...
I only just joined the temple myself today, and I read the book for more information. It tells you to leave particular offerings and so on at the various locations. For example, off of the top of my head, I think you need to leave a portion of muck at The Fields of Kummu.
Could be wrong (it's been a long week ), but I'm pretty sure I read descriptions of what you need to do in each case.

Tired, dragon wench?
just kidding...
Yeah, I tried the muck hoping for my journal to be updated, but alas! I guess I'll just travel to each one & hope it works in the end... If not, you guys will be sure to hear about it!
lol!
Yeah.. like I said.. it has been a very long week, normally I'm a tad more observant... So sorry about that.
Please keep us posted though. I joined the temple with a brand new character, and I'm not sure how quickly I'll advance with her, so I'd be interested in how it turns out

You only need to have the muck in your possession when you activate the shrine, then it will ask if you wish to donate the muck to receive a blessing. No need to put the muck anywhere. Just leave it in your inventory.
I've always really liked the Temple quests. They seem the most directed and appropriate of all factions I've tried.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
I know how to use and activate the shine pyramid-type-thingies, but I can't find the way to the shrine of courtesy in the vivec palace place. I can go into level 3 but there is only a shrine called 'puzzle canal' and it says i need to breath the water blah blah and the way will be shown, but I can't figure it out or how to get to the shrine that requires a silver longsword.

Any help?
You need to drown yourself. Don't worry you won't die because once you got drowned, your full hit points will be returned and a bridge will appear towards the room with the "force" field. On that room you'll meet a dremora. I think you have to offer it to him. There are silver longswords at the chest inside that room. you can use one of them.
