Crashes and Another Question

Post by Lime_Jello24 »

The game has been playing fine and good up to this point. However everytime we go to Omlet or Nub the game freezes slightly and crashes. Now we can play through the dungeons and stuff but any attempts to try and walk into these towns results in the game crashing each time.
We do have both the TOEE PAtch and the CO8 Patch installed. My hon did install a new sound card the other day. Could this be the problem or could it be something else?

Lastly most of the cinnematics in the game skip over and over again. Is one of the many bugs that Atari has in the game? Or is it something else?

Thank Ya!

Ignore the top question of my post. I was able to luckily stumble upon another forum with an answer to my question.

Now I have noticed upon reading other peoples posts that they have been having the same problems such as the following

1. The game won't load

2. The game tries to load but it sits there and spins and does nothing.

3. The game loads then crashes shortly after

4. The game plays good then all of a sudden during portions of the game it crashes. And you try everything and it won’t reload again.

Now I was pulling my hair out most of the morning an when I download this program, it fixed these problems. I downloaded
DAEMON TOOLS.

This program is fantastic! Now when I loaded my game with this program installed it also loads yer game faster with out all the spinning and restarting of your computer. Now I cannot guarantee it will work for everyone but it did work for me.

Directions:

Click on this link or Copy and Paste it

http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_softw ... _tools.cfm

Next download it by following the directions. Restart your system and when you come back to the desk top you will have a lighting bolt in a circle down by your tool bar.

Right click on the lighting bolt
Click on Emulation
Then click on Securom

Then start your game and see if it works. As i said I cannot guarantee it will work or will work.

Ran into a slight flaw with this system. It did help with allowing me to enter Omlet and Nub and it does start the game a lot faster then before. However saving your game and reloading it from any point in town still causes the game to crash.

I am becoming very fustrated to where I literly wanna strangle Atari for even putting a game out that has more bugs then a dang ant hill.

Were going to try and tweak a few things on the computer and see if we can at least allow this game to continue to load properly from save points in Omlet and Nub.

Trust me the program link I posted does work but as I said saving and then loading from Omlet or Nub will crash the game. But if you go from the TOEE straight to Omlet or Nub and back to TOEE it plays fine. Go figure!

Plus if anyone has any suggestions for me please share them.

Thank you!

We found out the over all problem with the game was the new sound card we installed it messed up the game.

We had to erase the whole game and reboot it into the system. How ever we ummmm (coughs) did some things to the game and such. Also we were able to save are "Save Files" and replace them back on the game.

YEAH! Thanks to my honey's high computer skills were going back to the TOEE and kick some major booty!
