Need... more... stuff..!

Post by HiRo11er »

SPOILER: This thread is meant to give away the location of cool stuff!

I like to consider myself a collector, but my collection is still so small! I've been searching through gamebanshee & the forums, but I haven't found any complete directions to some of the sweeter items in the game. Where are they? If someone could post a link to a comprehensive item site I'm sure that would be very helpful for many of us.

& before you angrily link me to the morrowind yellow pages I have to emphasize that I just tried that, but the links were defunct... :(

Also, where -exactly- are the blinding boots of speed?????
They would be perfect for my collection!
:D (edit: Nevermind; my nice uncle scratchy has been so kind as to tell me already...)

PS: Or people can just post the location of some of their favorite gear themselves... My personal favorites are the amulet of shadows, to be found right south of a dwemer bidge, a few stone throws SW of ald velothi. Ask some lady standing next to a pond about her ring, and a nearly invisible guy walks down the hill on the right of the pond. Kill him and claim your prize!
Also, right E of ald redaynia there's a daedric shrine. Talk to the statue in the main hall inside the shrine, and he will give you a fairly simple quest. Solve it and you get a badass heavy helm that boosts personality quite a bit. Nice one!

Dragonbone cuirass and others

There is a grotto south of Ebonheart in the ocean. Seach out the area and enter the grotto. Better be able to breathe water though. Go all the way back until you come to the lost flooded dwemer ruins. Search it out and recover perhaps the best heavy cuirass in the game.

If doing the main quest you eventually need to talk to a retired dunmer merchant in Ald'ruhn about Ashlander customs. He tells you his son has gone missing while searching for some treasure in a cave west of Ghostgate. The cave is Mamaea, Sanctum of Awakening. Rescue the son and loot the 6th House shrine all the way in the back. Look inside the coffin-like box and find one of the best daggers in the game. Its made from the fang of a dragon and does awesome storm damage - better than any long sword for killing a group of people at once. Seach between Bal Isra/Dushariran shrine and Koal Cave/Berandas.

Robe of Drakes Pride. Go to Tel Aruhn and enter the tower there. Go into the living quarters and find a woman wearing an enchanted exquisite robe (its gold colored). Taunt her or frenzy her into attacking you and kill her for the robe. Resists magic, fortifies INT +10 and I think it resists fire damage too. Best of all its a CE item.

Find the ruined and sunken shrine to Boethiah - one of the three good daedric gods. Talk to the severed head of the statue to get a quest. Complete the quest to get the Goldbrand sword. Not many good clues as to its whereabouts in the game but search out in the ocean west of the daedric shrine just NW of Hla Oad.

SWEET! :D

That was three quick ones I didn't even know about... I'm sitting at work right now, but my thoughts are already drifting towards the stuff I'm going to 'salvage' when I get home...

its full armour value is the same as the lords mail, when you have 100 heavy armour skill its 333 i think
also it has 100% resist to fire. so yeah its better than a daedric cuirass

As the title of this thread suggests, I like treasure. However, you guys reminded me of a big pet peeve I have with this game. All the random stuff you end up with that you don't need! (Especially keys...)
Before long you're swamped with all kinds of books, keys, notes and other random quest items that it's hard to remember what's what. You don't want to throw anything away just in case, but if you drag it all with you it will only slow you down and confuse you (or me, at least...)
At the same time your journal is 300 pages long, and flipping through it is a pain in the a$$...
Personally I managed to sell the glove you get from gentleman jim as part of the final quests of the thieves' guild. I sold it to some random shopkeeper somewhere in vvardenfell... :(

Anyway, just venting...

PS: I still want more stuff for my collection... ;)

PPS: I finally found the boots of blinding speed. Now I just need to cancel the blindness...

If you drink a resist (or is it dispel?) magic potion before putting the boots on, I believe that allows you to see while wearing them.

Figured it out. I just waited until I had the cuirass of saviours' hide, and used a resist magicka 70 I created. Topped with a night eye 60 CE shirt I can see clearer than ever before, in fact! :)

Side note; I've only just begun to utilize the 'spellmaking' function some mages offer. Turns out that it's a lot cheaper than I expected, and you can design -exactly- the spell you want. (duh!) It's about time I explored that part of the game...

Besides the targeted frenzy spell try making a targeted soultrap spell for about 30 seconds as well, its easier than using Gemfeeder scrolls and in combo with a good bow you can cast, kill and trap before the victim even reaches you. Of course with any spells you'll want to get trained up on the governing spell school skill.

SPOILER

...So I just found the sweetest long blade I've seen so far in Morrowind. "The Daedric Crescent" deals 10-50(?) slashing damage, disintegrates armor and paralyzes for ten seconds. In addition to that the sword is hands down the coolest-looking weapon in the entire game! It looks like a scythe of some sort, and it's totally different from anything I've seen so far.

The trick is to open the small ornate chest next to divayth fyr in tel fyr (lock 100, trapped). Equip the amulet inside, and it will teleport you to a shrine-looking place with a mean dremora that's pretty tough to kill. Once you kill him you're automatically transferred back to tel fyr, with the crescent in your inventory. Very nice.

In my case, I got to tel fyr at level 3, primarily looking for scourge. I found the amulet, killed the dremora no problem at all, got the crescent, and immediately afterwards I jumped too high & fell to my death without saving... :(
After trying it again I realized that me killing the dremora lord the first time was a random fluke, and that every blow he deals me kills me outright. Oh well, I'll wait a few more levels before I try it again... I can't really use a long sword anyway, yet... :p

sweeter longblades:

if your after a powerful longblade check out the Daedric claymore, if your in ivec i think in the Hlaalu vaults there is a room with a bunch of sweet armour (glass, ebony etc) weapons (again glass. ebony etc) and the daedric claymore.

there is a shedload of other sweet as items but i cant be assed listing them.

if its not in the hlaalu vaults, persevere! i might have got that wrong. check the other vaults too

The claymore might be a sweet weapon, but I'll take the crescent any day of the week. Its appearance wins it every time! It looks like a daedric dagger, only 15 times bigger.... Neat...

Is this Daedric weapon enchantable or does it already have enchantment on it..
What a wonderous love it is
To bind two souls in faith,
Chained completely together
With never a false word,
Weal and woe, wish and real,
Woven each together
From first kiss to last breath
First and last whispered in love
