At the request of Geezer (and to me it makes good sense) I've opened a new thread for we happy few chatters and gamers of all things PoR. So, no real topic in here so you could class this thread as 'misc' if you have no specific thread, questions or comments.
For myself, I am a self proclaimed Perpetual Newbie - always at the beginning of everything. Yeah, I know we have profiles we could fill in but really, does everyone look at them? It's somewhat less formal to say what you're about in a thread, anyways. Friendlier I guess.
So, I haven't been playing much what with moving house and the kids all wanting computer time 24/7. But I'll give you a brief rundown of my party as it stands so far :-
One Monk, one cleric, two sorcerers, a rogue, a multiclass cleric/fighter. The monk is handy as an all-round kind of guy and gets some class specific items early on in the game. They help flesh his abilities out pretty well. With the exception of Faeril and Jaril I chose the others purely for their specific skills - turning abililty, opening doors/locks, spell casting etc. The races of each class I chose according to their strengths, like my halfling rogue. Organising my party this way makes it easier for me than multiclassing and having to think too much about who's going to be doing what. Their roles are pretty much cut out for them. Not everyone thinks like this though so maybe some of you out there can share some details of combo's you've tried and have worked (or not) for you.
"Spock! Are you out of your Vulcan mind?" - 'Bones' McCoy.
We happy few
Good points both, but I wouldn't say the game MAKES you multiclass. You are given every opportunity to do so every time you level up though.
The cleric/barbarian for druid is a great idea though. Come to think on it some more there are some other races and classes that would work great too: Anti-paladin, shadow dancer (monk/rogue/wizard?), half-orc, drow, any of the 'deep' races to name a few. Hmmm ... are there any creatures we'd like to see? Gelatinous cubes, minotaurs or umber hulks?
I do kind of want a greater range of spells too. Some of my favorites have been omitted from the game - Magic jar, flaming sphere, gust of wind, heat metal for instance.
All y'alls thoughts?

well the maximum level is 32
but the maximum level for a single class is 16
so if u r a level 16 fighter and u level up again u cannot choose fighter anymore so u gotta pick another class
i wud definitly like to see more spells here
and the special ability for rogues at level 10
and be able to play subraces like in IWD2

they probably limited levels because there are limited enemies in the game
male elven fighter
male human paladin
female human rogue/fighter
male elven cleric/socerer
that's my current party, just gonna play with these four and not add any NPC's, probably will benefit later in the game experiance and level wise
but my alltime fav party had just two characters
male half-elven lv.16 fighter/lv. 10 rogue/lv. 6 sorcerer(for the wands)
male human lv. 14 paladin/lv. 8 monk/lv. 10 cleric
by the time I made it to the Drow catacombs, nothing could stop us, one had the deathspike, the other dreadswrord daemonic with the daemon claws of gr'zac
