Sorry, I know I'm not allowed to make many noises here, but it's this THING y'know. Makes me feel sort of revolutionary. It ain't all that hard, feeling revolutionary. It's just four to the floor, a twee tube amp, and a whole lot of righteous noise.

Is the rock revival thing still new over the Pond then?

I like Jet, I do, but they're one of those bands whose every song sounds like they're ripping off someone... They just chose good people to rip off. Except the ballads that sound like a boyband.
Oh, when I said over the pond I was referring to Thug's comments from the US of A. I know the garage scene is pretty strong in Scandinavia... The Hives, Soundtrack of your Lives, etc.Originally posted by Moonbiter
Nope. It's been argued that it actually started here in Scandinavia, with bands like the Hellacopters, Gluecifer and Turbonegro.
This is true. Another band that does it quite well is the Dandy Warhols. I just hope the kids who are listening to Jet and liking it are inspired to go back and listen to the classics.Ripping off old bands is perfectly okay as long as you rip off the good stuff. Jet's target audience has probably never even heard a song by The Who, Stones or Bon Scott era AC/DC, so it's an education.
Yep. Playing songs that allow record companies to make the most money is what commercial radio is all about. I, too, get sick of hearing the same songs over and over when there's a lot of interesting music that gets hardly any air time. That's a good reason to listen to alternative stations, college stations, and public radio.Originally posted by Gord_the_Rogue
Jet... loved the band when I first heard thier music. Unfortunately, radio stations (at the behest of music companies I am sure) feel the need to play popular music to death...
