Change of gaming experience

Post by HiRo11er »

So I feel the need to mention this, and there's no thread that fits so I'll have to make up a new one...

I just wanted to say that after bumping into these forums by accident, I've adopted a totally new perspective on Morrowind. Back when I first got the game I'd play it like crazy, but something was missing somehow. Then I realized that the reason I felt like that is because I had no-one I could talk to about the game!
There were also tons of things that I either didn't know, didn't care about, or that I didn't bother with learning.

After finding these forums I realize just how many people are out there playing Morrowind & loving it, & I've learned a bunch of things about things to do, places to go & loot to discover! I've also created more of a background story to my female breton sorceress, & added the role-playing element... Very fun...

I guess my point with this thread is to say thank you to the gamebanshee community for revitalizing my gaming experience with Morrowind! Because of you all I'm enjoying the game a lot more than I was earlier! :)

PS: Also because of these forums I'm now equipped with goldbrand, umbra, daedric crescent, fists of randagulf, helm of oreyn bearclaw, scourge, dragonbane's cuirass, lord's mail, cuirass of the saviour's hide, and the helm of clavicus ville, & the list grows every day... :D

*smiles* There are many gaming forums out there, but Game Banshee is a very special place.. I had much the same experience when I began to play Baldur's Gate Two, which is what first pulled me to this web site, via a Google search. Unlike many game sites, there exists a very real sense of community at Game Banshee, and it is that sense of connection that really helps to make these RPGs come alive IMO :)

here, here

most forums i go to seem very clinical and detached, gamebanshee has a certain something that does keep you coming back... partly for the wonderful advice you can get and partly because IMO there is no better place on the net to discuss games than gamebanshee

When Iron thingy was gone....

There was a site called. "The Iron works"? Iron Hammer?

It went away shorty before the realse of BGII or IWDII or during the long wait for Neverwinter nights. It was good because the site people were RPG fans.

I Found Gamebanshee while struggling with the bug ridden "Polls of Radience" 2000.

Gamebanshee is player friendly, Player supportive, and encourages comment and participation.

The only place I've seen with as much fan suport is the NWN site, but most of that was suport for people who couldn't get the game to work.

So, Yes. Ilike Gamebansee.

yeah, I hear you. I found Gamebanshee while looking for a walkthrough for Dungeon Siege a year or two ago. I've been coming back ever since. When I started playing MW, I couldn't talk about the game at school because I didn't know anyone who also played MW. But then I found the MW forums on this site, and now I have people to talk to who like the same RPG's that I like. So thanks, everyone. Thanks for your help and information.
I wanted to change my sig, but I can't think of anything to change it to :(

These forums tend to bring out the nice, polite, friendly side of a lot of people. You can ask people for a way to beat Draconis  in the morning and you can be sure there'll be quite an amount of answers in the evening or even in the afternoon. You can ask stupid questions (like me) and never be laughed at. Or, as in my case, they at least laugh at you in a friendly way :p
On the SYM-forum debates are often really intense and emotional and even there we do our best to respect each other. Remember when Fable temporarily left SYM? That was a very big deal for GB, things like that almost never happen here.
I've been a regular on the GB-forums for quite some time and I have no plans to go away.

Amen! :D

There you go, pepsi...

I found gamebanshee while looking for kotor stuff, too. Then I saw the Morrowind forums, & just knowing they were here were enough to get me going again...

& for the record, I think the layout and user-friendliness of gamebanshee makes it one of the best forums (regardless of topic) I have seen... :)

I found out about Game Banshee when I was looking at a map of Morrowind that my friend had printed off the computer. On the bottom of the page it had the link where he got the map, so when I got home I gave a little visit and wala, here I am. :D It's a cool place. I learned a lot about Morrowind. Pretty helpful... Yep... I know more about Morrowind than my friends. It's pretty cool. :p Hehe. I'm still relatively new to the game, (been playing for about 4 months) and I know a lot about it. Thanks, guys.
