Helmets

Post by TheDude »

after i had some problems with valet in the underdark ( here)
i wanted to know what i missed out and after i saw the skull helmet i was wondering:

wat is the best helmet?
does everyone use them?? because besides the helm of balduran the aren't really great helmets
and are all your other tanks scruwed when your main tank walks away with the balduran helm.

Your wrong, there are some very nice helmets in the game.
Dragon helm is always nice to have. As well as the helms of charmprotection.
Helm of defence gives you +1 savings that come in handy.

And dont forget Vhailor's Helm with it's Simulacrum ability.

And I havent even mentioned some nice ion stones and ToB items.

I have to agree helmets arent as good as rings/armor etc. But their certainly not worthless, and there are many better helmets then the helm of Balduran. Dont forget that AC isnt everything, when your fighter with -10AC gets charmed you have a big problem. While a simple common helmet can be prevent this.

PS. more on helmets here

The only problem is that it doenst look as cool. I loved a dwarf with the helm of Balduran in BG1.

Item upgrade mod will combine the helm of defense with helm of charm protection. This makes a pretty sweet helmet. Ruad will combine the dragon helm with some other stuff but I haven't done that.

I like helmets... but which character I give which helmet to generally depends on how well it matches the armour :) I think the helmets in SoA are far more exciting than the ones in ToB, though there are decent Ioun stones in ToB.
