Roleplaying my man, roleplaying. What self-respecting reputation 20, level 16, 100k gold pieces, Carsomyr-wielding adventurer would let himself and his girlfriend(s) sleep on a wooden pallet with a straw pillow?

In the past I've noticed a bug where if you rest after killing Pebblecrusher (or whoever comes down the stairs first) they will respawn. This is actually good as you get double or triple the loot and experience. I haven't had it occur lately probably because I haven't rested or perhaps because I reloaded the game to clean out old mods.
This bug occured when ToB fist came out and was fixed by the official patch.
My version of Amon is overridden (either by ToB or Unfinished Business mod)
UB. He used to be called Sorcerous Amon and I think its just his name which has altered...part of UB restores some original names, the town crier being another one.

Very good point. My main character Isair usualy either sleeps in noble rooms, or... goes to a noble's house, murders him and sleeps in his bed
